Zodiac - SPOILERS

Just got back from seeing it, overall I really enjoyed it. The movie is pretty long but always feels like its moving and has you guessing and second guessing nearly everything going on.

The ending was the ultimate blue balls. All this evidence, nothing that they could do about it for soooo long, I would've gone Dirty Harry if I was the cop I think.

I thought it was a well-made movie, and Fincher deserves an award for recreating 70's San Fran in such detail. I didn't enjoy it much though.

Maybe I just knew too much about the case beforehand, or the case just isn't that interesting once you remove all the sensationalism from it. The Zodiac was basically a fucking chump. He killed a few people, and wasn't even terribly successful at that to the point where he had to lie and take credit for murders he didn't even commit, wrote some letters that panicked the public, and only got away with it due to some screw ups by the police and the fact that the 70's are like the stone age compared to today. The fact that the guy attained the level of notoriety that he did is just sad.

Sure, he's dead by now, whether or not Graysmith's theory was correct, so it's not like he can enjoy the fact that he's getting the attention he always wanted almost 40 years later, but it's still not right.

I went in basically knowing nothing but reading a little bit. Yeah my little brother was telling me he was awesome to get a way with it and I'm like are you kidding? The guy kept wearing the same boots, same watch, had a creepy trailer, told his friend he was going to do shit like that and got incredibly lucky he got away with it. At first they make him sound pretty interesting as a killer, but the guy turned into a queer as soon as he took credit for murders that weren't his.

I enjoyed the movie even though I knew a lot about the case going in. The movie seemed pretty faithful to the events of the case. I did enjoy the small scene near the end when Graysmith got the answer he was looking for.

Yea, that was a good scene. Unfortunately, the movie tries to say that Leigh was definitely the killer and that's something that will likely never be proven as fact. DNA recovered from saliva residue on the envelopes showed that he was not the person who licked them. He could've had someone else do that for him of course, but that's still a pretty considerable amount of doubt. The movie was faithful to Graysmith's opinion on what happened and who the Zodiac was, that's all.

Exactly. We'll never know for certain who the real Zodiac killer was, and that is part of the allure of the case at least for me.

I thought it was pretty good if a bit long. In comparison to a lot of movies these days, though, it was fucking brilliant.

On a side note, the stabbing scene of that couple that he tied up was very disturbing. I want to say it was well done at the same time I want to say it was fucked up and I wished I hadn't seen it.

Movie sucked, too long and what a dipshit to endanger his family like that. He acted like he didnt even understand how it could get his wife and kids hurt or killed. Shit didnt even get that it could fuck with their heads knowing a mass murderer wanted their dad dead. I was hoping he would die in the basement, but alas it twas not to be.

p.s. wtf Fedor?
