That article really makes them sound more similar then they really are. I looked up a summary of her book on amazon, and her story is about her getting drunk after her engagement party and then has unprotected sex with her FIANCE and gets pregnant.

With the exception of the title and the most basic premise "whoops I'm pregnant" they don't sound all that similar enough to me for her to try to sue.

Sounds like a bitch wants money.

Perhaps. Just because the story isn't identical doesn't mean she may not have a valid claim. I kind of agree that most likely the makers of the movie had never heard of her book, otherwise they'd have to be morons to name it the same. But at the same time, this isn't some random "bitch" as you say, she's a fairly well established journalist.

Well for copyright issues, which this falls under, stories do need to be close to identical.

As for the title, is not exactly a huge stretch for any story / movie about pregnancy to be called knocked up.

Saw the movie, thought it was great.

I think the bitch sueing is just digging for money, I mean its such a common story and him being a jew had basically nothing to do with the movie except it woulda been really odd if they didnt make him a jew since he looks really jewy.
