+32 Internets | The movie was mostly just the special features from the Hannibal movie... I guess if I hadn't looked at the bonus features on the DVD it might have been a lot more interesting. |

| I'd give this movie 2/10. Almost nothing redeeming about it. Hannibal Lector acts like a weenie, and not the genius he's supposed to be. The only thing he did that was worthy of the original Hannibal from Silence of The Lambs was tricking that guy at the beginning with the fork. |

| *sigh* Why couldn't they have left Hannibal alone. You can't reduce anyone to the sum of their experiences; isn't that essentially what Hannibal tells Clarice in Silence of the Lambs. Now Harris is doing exactly that here--reducing one of the creepiest villains of all time to nothing more than a set of unfortunate circumstances and heredity, thus taking all his mystique away. |

| This movie was utter trash that furthers the decline of this once great character. Manhunter and Silence of the Lambs should have been the end of it. Manhunter ....not Red Dragon. William Peterson owns in that |

+2 Internets | Quite a poor movie in my opinion. I think sometimes, it is better to keep a part of mystery around "evil" characters ; as giving them "excuses" by explaining their motives might give you too much empathy towards them, and the vilain will only apear diminished. It was already the case with SW ep 3 (Revenge of the Sith), which ruined one of the most charismatic vilain ever (Darth Vader), by showing us that in fact, he was just a whiny, arrogant, easily manipulated little idiot.

| I just watched this tonight. Got it in the mail from Netflix. I was going to see it in the theater but so many people told me that it sucked ass so I waited for the DVD. I have to say after watching the unrated version, I actually enjoyed it. It wasn't a masterpiece or anything but it was worth seeing and pretty entertaining.
