The film is an adaptation of the Old English epic poem Beowulf.
had me interested...

The film will use motion capture techniques similar to Zemeckis' The Polar Express.

Read the AICN article, then make your judgments.

I never saw Polar Express, what exactly was the issue with that? I read the AICN article where he talks about the eyes, but was that it?

So for the totally ignorant, would that be a plus or a minus?

It means we've entered hallowed grounds.
You can adore Gaiman or hate his guts, but there'll be no middle ground.

+

Neil Gaiman = Sandman and a slew of other comics and graphic novels, plus Neverwhere, Stardust, Good Omens (w/Terry Pratchett), American Gods, Anansi Boys, etc. and the screenplays for Mirrormask and Princess Mononoke (English adaptation). My favorite writer by a huge margin.

No one has mentioned the fact that they are actually considering doing an NC-17 cut of the film.
