Sunshine

I just saw Smokin Aces today and saw a preview for Sunshine. I had never heard of it before, but the trailer was amazing. Takes place in the future and the sun is dying so some people have to go try to jumpstart it.
Was this movie kept under wraps or did I just miss it? I'm pretty pumped about it, Cillian Murphy is rad.

Looks good. That song makes me think of Jennifer Connelly doing ass to ass with some other crackwhore, which means I'm sold.

That music works perfectly with pretty much any compilation of action scenes.

Yeah movies really take advantage of the ownage that is that song. The concept seems pretty decent, but I think I saw flamer in there from Fantastic Four, but the dude talking I'm pretty sure is scarecrow from batman and I liked him. However I guess that means there wasn't heavy demand for these roles (lol?) because those two are far from stars and I doubt anyone considers flamer a serious actor (this could be like that movie supernova not long ago)

Cillian Murphy - scarecrow

he is about to blow off the charts in popularity. Everyone I fucking know especially kids taking my class talk about his ass.

He is already extremely popular and has been especially in the independent circle since On the edge. Cillian Murphy

As for Johnny "flame on" flamer blah....glad to see silver surfer drop his ass into the atmosphere.

Anyone know the actual, real name of the song? All I've ever heard it referenced to was "That action movie trailer song".

I'm pretty sure it's from the Requiem soundtrack. I'll confirm in a little bit.

Yeah it's a remixed version of the Requiem for a Dream theme.

It's the Clive Mansell remix from the Kronos Quartet.

Hmm it sounds just like the original Clint Mansell theme from the movie. Dunno what the song was actually called, but it sounds like the track played at the movie's unforgettable ending, when Jennifer Connelly was 'earning' her cocaine with the help of another junkie whore and a 2-headed dildo.

Been a while though, could be wrong... although Clint Mansell does tend to rework his stuff for his own albums.

Anyways yeah Cillian Murphy is heartthrob du jour. I'm not sure about the flame guy from fantastic four, didn't see it.

Yup, Cillian Murphy's a big name on the island. The wind that shakes the barley wasn't half bad (though a bit long).

As Sunshine comes from the same guy who did 28 Days later, I guess these two are forming up some sort of british DiCaprio/Scorsese couple or so...

He's been in a few good flicks and I knew he was getting more popular but he's not huge here by any means. I mean it wasn't long ago he was Jackson Rippner in Red Eye

What other movie trailer has used that song, though? I'm a clint mansell fan and I really liked Requiem for a Dream, but this is the first time I've heard the song used outside the movie. Maybe I just don't watch enough trailers..

I see a ton of trailers recycling the Braveheart theme or any number of hans zimmer's themes, though. The World Trade Center even re-used hans zimmer's Pearl Harbor theme in the movie itself, not just the trailer.
