The Hitcher

Didn't see another thread on it, so here we go.

I just got back from seeing it. I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting some cheesy horror crap but it was actually quite good. It was a pretty good "omg this could happen!" movie (other than the cops who were inept dumbasses) It was very entertaining and tense. I held my breath more than once and my gf was basically sitting in my lap the whole movie.

I'd recommend it for cheap thrills.

I was looking forward to it because I like Sean Bean, but he wasn't half as good as Rutger Hauer in the original.

I loved the original and I probably haven't seen it in 20 years, so I'm hoping to catch this one.

I can't ever see Sean Bean and not think "He got ambushed by a cup of coffee."

The WWTDD version doesn't make a whole lot of sense unless you read the original piece at LA Weekly.

LA Weekly - Death Race 2000

Pretty damn bizarre... the guy may be nuts but he did write two of the best horror movies of the 80's (the other one being Near Dark, which is not surprisingly next in line for Michael Bay's horror remake factory to churn out).

I just can't figure out why they needed to remake this movie. It's not even that old, and the first one with Rutger Hauer was fine.
