| More Austin Powers In an interview Mike Meyers said that Austin Powers 4 was a possibility. He even said that 4, 5, and yes, even 6, are all possibilities, it just depends on if he feels like writing them. Considering the general reaction that Goldmember got, how do you think these movies would turn out? Would you see them?

| i have enjoyed all 3. but goldmember does make me ask; whats left for a sequal? as it is there wasnt much "new" material and theres only so many ways to retell the same jokes. the cameos of other big name stars was a nice touch but it didnt exactly fill up much screen time. i dont know, while the idea of more austin powers certainly doesnt turn me off, it had better contain alot more new material than gold member did. |

| It will be interesting to see if Myers does something he talked about around the time AP2 came out. He mentioned in one interview that I read, that if the AP francise keeps being successful he eventually would cast a new actor to play Austin Powers and he would just continue to play Dr Evil and all the supportnig character. This is an obvious parody to the multiple actors to play James bond over the years.

+19 Internets | They could have some serious fun with that idea, and it might be the best way to keep the series fresh and different. And instead of having a new actor just play the same Austin Powers, they could perhaps have him do a totally different character, some other sort of stereotype. Punjabi Powers or something! |

his explanatoin was that "james bond" was the cover name for a specific rank/job. so any time agent # "007" retired/died his replacement took over his dutys and the cover name. this would protect the retiring agent who could go back to using his real name. looking back on that im pretty sure he made it up; since i cant seem to find anything that would verify his story. but the idea is one that sorta made sense, and i cant seem to find any "official" explanation. other than using it as a parody APs use of another actor would only make sense in a comic sense; since we've already seen his family and know thats his real name. but for bond i dont think theres ever been an "in character" explanation of his past/background; you only ever see him "on the job" so to speak. bond if they wanted to probably could use some cover story to explain away the multi-actor syndrome. (other than the RL reasons and assuming they actually wanted to) | |

| I know that from Goldeneye on they reveal a bit into Bond's character and past through some hokey emotional scenes with the women, and through 006's comments in the aforementioned title. You could probably write a short and somewhat trivial essay on Bond's character, but of course... why? I prefer to just enjoy the movie for what it is: silly action scenes and cool gadgets, with some nice looking womens thrown in. ![]() |
