Ok I did try a search, but came up with a bajillion results. Anyways I was at Pan's Labrynth last night and this preview came up

It was fucking hilarious and it looks Japanese... Usually I steer clear of live-action Japan stuff, but this will be an exception.

Edit: this trailer does not show the funny side of the movie.

It's Korean, and there are DVD rips out there. Heard it was supposed to be pretty good.

Sorry I know I post some heinous grammar too, just had to throw it out...

As for the movie I did not know it was a re-release.

Oh, and Rottentomatoes has a really high average score for the film, which is usually a good indicator.

Very very good critical reception in France (it was released there during december I think). I have not seen the movie, but a friend of mine did and found it interesting but a tad overrated.

That's the same director that did a pretty neato festival cult film called Memories of Murder.

It is pretty entertaining as long as you don't expect too much out of it. It almost has a cartoonish flavor, which is quite pleasant. I just thought that the ending didn't realy match the rest of the movie, but it's not bad.

I guess I expected more than I should've with all the great reviews. I didn't laugh during it really, it was entertaining but was also quite cheesy at times to. I don't understand the korean studio that can make a good cg monster but can't make cg fire that doesn't look like crap either.

the end where he sticks the pole in the monster right before it hits the water was great. I kept waiting for his kid to 'snap out of it', kind of shocked me she actually died. Ending seemed pretty serious and reiterated their previous jab at the US heh.
