Took me forever to find this thread.

"Avatar" has new player with Ribisi - Yahoo! News

Ribisi is fucking awesome and I'm happy to see him sign on to Avatar.

Thanks for the update,

That's an awesome cast. This movie is going to be incredible in an iMax theater.

What sucks is 3D never looks as cool at home, I can never get the big screen to really give a good 3D experience.

Yeah, I read some news about this on a Danish movie news site, and it looks VERY interesting to say it the least, atleast from my point of view.

Does this movie have anything to do with the anime? I couldn't stand watching that for more than a few minutes. Initially I thought Cameron was making it based on the animated series then I realized it was his story in the first place.

Airbender is american i believe so i wouldn't call it anime. Also rofl at M.Night Shymalan directing it, it might be worse then the tv show!

Although I guess airbender isn't really bad for the proper age group.

Still, i'm pretty excited about this... In the 90's he was my favorite director for the movies he made before Titanic.

The only thing cooler would be us finding out McG flalls of a cliff and Cameron directs T5 and T6 after battle angel.

I'm actually pretty excited about both, A:TLA is one of the few cartoons I enjoy on a a regular basis these days, and the show is quirky, so m. night's style might fit pretty well. And i'm mostly just looking forward to the geeking out on the technical aspects of Avatar.

Oh and GREAT idea/fantasy of JC directing the next terminators... but given his track record he wouldnt get it out till till 2018.... hrmm, kind of fitting, actually.

I'd be willing to wait...

Based on my rep, it seems i've angered quite a few airbender fans. I did say it wasn't that bad for the right age group didn't I?

I watched a few episodes with my cousins (whom are now 10 and 11) and it was a bit hard to bear with the overly simplistic plot and kind of fake oriental feeling but it is a lot better then a lot of new kid shows.

The information IMDB has on Avatar makes it sound a lot like the Erekose story by Michael Moorcock, but set in the future. Regardless, hopefully it doesn't suck, I've liked most of Cameron's other movies.

Hopefully it doesn't suck because Sam Worthington needs to take over as the new badass star for Hollywood.

Based on your rep, you're enough of a Terry Goodkind fan to watch Legend of the Seeker regularly and really shouldn't talk shit about any show...ever.
