| It still looks interesting but the trailer confirmed my worst fears of pocahontis in space...well, sorta. I have to throw my lot in with the crowd who just wanted to see a "nice planet, I'll take it" movie without any morality bullshit. |

| That second trailer looked awesome I can't wait. Some of you are just haters. And Titanic was a really good movie too...I don't understand all of the hate.

+3 Internets | Worst movie he's made is True Lies, that's a pretty good track record. Unless we're counting Piranha Part Two: The Spawning which doesn't seem fair...

| You best be trolling, bro. Cameron didn't direct it, he was just the producer for Kathryn Bigelow. Strange Days was awesome back in 1995, it's too rare that a cyberpunk movie actually gets made to bash on 'em - particularly one that isn't all glitzy kung-fu and action like the Matrix films. |

| Going to go see it,but I wish the color scheme wasn't as vibrant and the aliens looked less gay. I miss Cameron's darker Sci Fi...

| That's the problem with 3D. Just wearing the glasses makes the entire screen much darker, so if you're gonna make a movie _for_ 3D, you have to make it vibrant and lush otherwise it'll show up as being much darker than desirable for 3D viewers. And then you possibly get the opposite of Too Much Brown for 2D viewers. |

+3 Internets | I just saw a TV spot of this during the World Series. I don't know what the deal is, maybe it's the difference between a computer monitor and a 42" screen, but holy shit does the CGI look unreal on TV. Like, better as in, without a doubt the best CGI I've ever seen. Looking forward to more TV spots on my big screen for this... really... it seems to make a world of difference. |

+227 Internets | Originally, I had been somewhat disappointed to hear that Cameron had chosen to go forward with Avatar instead of Battle Angel/Gunm. Now I feel somewhat different; though I'll have to wait longer, hopefully it will be the better movie after they work through Avatar first. Hopefully they don't trash everything after Avatar finishes, but /shrug. As far as Avatar...I'm hoping it's better then I'm afraid it will be. It looks pretty, but the storyline seems somewhat rehashed and I don't know how believable the battle between the natives and a shit-ton of raging space marines in mecha will be. Hopefully the last trailer didn't reveal too much, and they've got a few more surprises in store so it doesn't end up being "Humans go to planet, fuck with planet, attack natives, natives go down fighting A la Alamo". |

Aliens or T2 or The Abyss. I could watch those on an elderly mobile phone and they'd still be good movies. They all do have awsome visuals (especially for their time), but they also had more than that. Now I am not the person who wouldn't ever give some money to a movie on some nice effect. I've sat faithfully through Star Wars Ep. 1-3, no matter how much George Lucas debased himself, cause I still love lightsabers and spaceships. It is just.. from Cameron.. one is expecting more than just bling and easter-eggs on his older work to promote pricy 3D cinema seats. I'll still watch it. I don't even think Avatar will be terribly bad. But I am not convinced that its up there with what Cameron is (or used to be) capable of doing.

+13 Internets | True Lies is fucking ACE. Love that movie. Also consider the fact that Cameron has not directed an actual movie in years. He's had his head underwater for a long, long time. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see that he's lost it from underwater dementia or some shit, or become so fascinated with the mystery of the deep that he's completely delusional about what makes good film. I was expecting this to be in the style of Terminator. Mysterious, atmospheric, violent...but it looks to be Dances With Wolves in space. GG. Last edited by Blumpster; 11-05-2009 at 06:30 AM.. |

| I think that's partly what he was shooting for. Reason being that I vaguely remember a quote from Cameron to think of it as Dances With Wolves in space.
