| Fear dot com this has to be the most absurd basis for a horror film yet. the only thing i can assume is that the writer is terrified of technology and progress and is trying to entice the computer illiterate masses into being terrified of surfing the web. "if you visit this web site you will die in 48 hours" yea and if i say redrum into my bathroom mirror 13 times while standing on my head my heart will explode. these are the kinds of things 5th graders scare each other with and dont translate well into actual fear. while the plot falls flat on its face and lacks any real compelling elements the cinematics of the film are occasionaly breath taking. the sounds and visuals do their best at creating a believable tranced out world. its just unfortunate that the actors have to open their mouths and ruin the experience entirely. honestly if you want fear, wait for this film to come out on DVD, turn it on, turn the volume off, and find yourself something blood chilling to play on your stereo in the background. in fact: hint to the studio, if you want to increase sales, make the DVD playable without words but with the background score and screams in tact. that would be worth buying, but i sure as hell dont want to listen to them mumble through the script again. | fear dot eww Was going to make similar post but kaylum beat me to it hehe. Anyhow, kay do u remember the end scene where detective tells the killer (who's standing with a razor near the victim) to drop the knife? (as per police code if you see a killer in a harms way of a victim and a possible hostile attempt you take the killer out without warning of any kind). Instead he makes his presence known and gets shot in process. Not to even mention the crap about this 48 hr dying shit they pulled about feardotcom.com (another fun thing, probably fear.com was already registered by some1 else so they had to get some other name lol). Closing remark on the film from movie theatre point of view: On the opening night on friday mroe people were watching Austin Powers 3 then feardotcom. I think that summs it all up pretty much. rating: 0 ![]() |

| Was kind of looking forward to this because it was by the guy who did the remake of House on Haunted Hill, and I totally loved that movie. The visuals, music, and atmosphere rocked. Was hoping he could pull it off again, but I guess not. Oh well. |

its not even the actors fault, they had nothing to work with but still managed to put in a good visual performance. | |

| Feardotcom was ok The storyline was off. Granted the perceptions of the main characters were supposed to be warped, a lot of things still didn't make sense. Cinematography was good, the whole movie is very moody, the sets are always cluttered and dark creating a claustrophobic feel, although you begin to wonder why noone ever turns on the lights. Reason I didn't like it too much was that the movie just wasn't that scary. It was disturbing for the imagery, especially the often intercut scenes of women being tortured, which piques a sort of morbid fascination, but it didn't inspire any fear in me. Still, I was never less than interested in the movie, so I guess I was technically entertained. It just didn't have that oomph that Blair Witch or Event Horizon, good horror movies, have. I'm looking forward to The Ring, which this movie appears to be a blatant rip off of. The trailer for that is fucking hardcore. |

| bleah OMG that drove me nuts too, Olegai. He was not 15 feet away, had a clear sight picture and the bad guy wasn't moving/had the blade far away from the girl's neck. I saw it with my boyfriend and he and I were both shouting, "What are you doing?? Just shoot him!!" It killed the drama of the scene worse than when nobody rushed to pick up Denzel Washington's dropped gun in John Q. ![]() |
