+14 Internets | The Transformers Movie I'm surprised there isn't a thread on this yet. Well not on the first 3 pages anyway. They released the new trailer today, showing them transform and kick ass. I was a little dubious about this, and I still am, as from a lot of the leaked photo's show their robot forms to be a bit 'alien'. Bottom line though, if they make a great movie about giant robots, blowing tons of shit up and beating other giant robot ass, then it will be the best movie of '07. I'm no huge fan of Michael Bay, but he does make visually fun action flicks, so I don't think he will let us down in that regard. Anyway, here is the link. |

| the dialogue in that helicopter scene [from aaron pierce from 24 no less] was horribly cringeworthy "get out or we will kill you.." however, the brief glimpse of Optimus Prime more than made up for it, even if he does have a new hot wheels skin. |

Anyways, I'm excited about this movie. I really like their take on the Transformers. Unlike most people, I think using the old designs would look ridiculous, even if the movie was set in the 80's (which I think it would have to be to use the old designs). A transforming boom-box? Seriously? I really like the more realistic approach they're taking, and they even have a decent scientific/techonological explanation for the transformers. I like the designs more than the old designs as well, since the new designs make a lot more sense and every part transforms perfectly into a vehicle. I think it's too early to tell. It did sound more like a 2 foot tall robot transforming than a 2 ton mech transforming. Then again, I have no idea what a two ton mech transforming would sound like. That being said, I hope the movie is about the machines, and not about the humans looking at the machines. Basically, 10 minutes into the movie I don't want a single scene without a robot in it. | |

![]() Reminds me of that scene in the bathroom in Reservoir Dogs, during the cops monologue. "Put your hands on the steering wheel or I will shoot you in the face."
