Is that jet Megatron, or is it really Starscream? I thought I had heard that Megatron was the helicopter?

I like the part where Megatron has the kid cornered and looks pissed, slamming his fist into the ground.

Trailer is indeed impressive. I also noticed the face plate on Optimus Prime.

Was really skeptical but the trailers have me sold. Totally looks like good ol' fashion Michael Bay. What did Spielberg do? just Funding?

the masterpiece series are.. well, masterpieces.. in the $100 range. these movie toys are just the $10-$20 get'em-at-walmart toys. i'm a closed minded oldschooler who hates just about everything after G2.. the only newish transformers i own are a handfull of the classic series.. starscream, prime, bumblebee, jetfire, and mirage.

they're actually good take offs on the original vehicles and robots and follow basiclly the same transformed configuration or whatever you wanna call it.. for instance prime's chest being the windshield and legs being the rear frame of the truck. except of course bumblebee being a civic-looking hatchback instead of a vw bug, but the robot mode is convincing. and i'm a honda fanboy anyway =P

Well, I just wish the ones in the actual movie looked as good as the Masterpiece ones do. =\ That's been commented on enough though.

Know what would be awesome? A Masterpiece Devastator. My god, it would be huge.

Also the Wheeljack 2006 Mustang version from the Alternators line:

Wheeljack - Transformers: Alternators - Toy Gallery

Is way the hell cooler Barricade from the movie who uses pretty much the same shell:

Barricade - Transformers Movie - Toy Gallery

Wheeljack's robot mode owns his.

Wheeljack is also sitting right on my desk. ><

Grimlock is also the same model as Wheeljack and the original paint of it. He's pretty awesome too. But Grimlock as a car is wtf. =(

So, I wonder how long until they make a G.I. Joe movie?

I can't imagine a live-action G.I. Joe movie being good unless it was rated R and done by the best action-war movie directors we have.

Most likely...which is why I can't imagine this flick being too good either. Michael Bay? Yeah, that's gonna turn out a real winner. Pity they couldn't have gotten Peter Jackson, oh well.

Megatron is based off of his Energon toy. They used mostly G1 bits and pieces, but also pulled from other generations of Transformers for the movie. He is a Cybertronian Jet in the movie.

They already have it in the works. Mark Walberg rumored to be Duke.
