This second trailer greatly raises my hopes for the movie. Now it looks like it will truly deliver and be exactly what it should be. A movie loaded with special effects, explosions, and transformers.

Which, BTW, is all the original cartoon was, just minus the special effects.

The thing that is missing for me that you don't see in the trailers is the personalities of the transformers. I have the doomed feeling that they'll make all the transformers emmotionless robots and nothing more. =/

Ok Mr Anal, if I wanted to load up the trailer again just so I could quote the line word for word I would have, regardless, the way I paraphrased it got the point across.

As for following the movie, nobody needs to follow any particular movie to know that most, if not all, productions these days actively employs military advisors.

Whether it was the way it was delivered, the way it was cut for the trailer or the words themselves I'm not sure, what I am sure about is that it came across as awfully lame.

Besides, in almost every action film/show I've seen, I've never heard anyone say "get out or we will kill you", "get out or we'll shoot" maybe but most of the time it's a simple "get out/come out", the fact that there's typically a host of swat/army dudes with rifles aimed at the target makes the "or we will kill you" redundant

there's no way they will have as much personality as they originally did. i doubt they'll get near the airtime talking that the humans get, if they even talk at all.

Peter Cullen(the original Optimus voice) is credited on IMDB as OP in the film. Not sure how reliable IMDB's credits are for stuff that isn't released yet, but that's a good sign, I suppose.

Not at all. I think the fact that I want the transformers to make sense suggest I'd like something other than a shit story. The original Transformers story wasn't very good, nor were a lot of the Transformers themselves. You just have 20-year-old glasses on, looking at the cartoons as how you saw them when you were 5. Changing the way the Transformers look doesn't mean it's not a Transformers movie. Do you want another Mortal Kombat, or even He-man? This isn't Tolkien. We can't have a very close replication of the original and have it not be terrible.

Still, I think the transformers are pretty good portrayals of their former selves, even if they're new-looking. I showed my mom the trailer last night. She doesn't know anything about Transformers except that I liked Bumblebee. I didn't tell her what the trailer was for but she figured it out halfway through. She was all excited and knew Prime was Prime and Bumblebee was Bumblebee, even though they look different. It didn't even show Bumblebee as a Beetle and she got it. It just showed the quick shot of his face and YELLOW. She was like, "Bumblebee!?"

I can see where you're coming from when you say the new transformers don't have as much character as the old ones. I can see both sides of the issue though. On the one hand, the new transformers are utterly original. I've never seen robots quite like this, at least not in a mainstream movie. I'm not a huge Robitca nerd or anything though. I like the designs, and I know I'm in the minority. I think the bad guys look about 35 times more badass than any bad guy on the cartoon. The voices will be the most crucial aspect.

I loved the Transformers and all, but I don't see how they could make them "make sense".

There was an official announcement that he was voicing Prime at I think Comic Con this year and Megatron should be the original voice aswell.

this is the exact thing i have issue with tho. it's taking something many many people are familiar with, completely redesigning and changing it, then calling it the same thing. it may be a terrible, good, or great change, but still a change.

this has been done numerous times from this movie to tmnt to final fantasy.

just a difference of opinion i guess. xformers should be xformers, quirkiness and all.. because that's what they are.

and one thing we can agree on for sure.. michael bay doesn't agree with people like me.

edit: and silly me.. i forgot the worst change in the history of media.. godzilla. i still cry.
