They were a great show, but it wasn't the greatest developed plot and I'll be honest, I watched it for the robots fighting. The quirky attitudes of the various robots was great and would be interesting to see if they managed to capitalize on that, but it wasn't the primary draw I had to the show.

To this day I maintain that Optimus Prime is one of the greatest heroes a show has had. Megatron was almost as good of a villian.

But it isn't called that. It is called Transformers. And the only good thing that can be said about it is thank the gods that Soundwave isn't in this travesty.

What else is going to happen in the movie? I dont think we are going to have too many scenes where Optimus breaks down and cries. As long as they have tons of shit blowing up, what else can they really screw up on? I dont see why people bring up Pearl Harbor, its a totally different movie. Spiderman 3 sucked because of the Peter Parker side of the movie, the Spiderman stuff was decent. But this movie shouldnt have any of that crap, maybe just a few awkward scenes with sam and that chick, but bumblebee will there to help him out so there is no way it can fail.

Actually, I really hope they keep their personalities. That was probably the best part of the show besides the action, how they interacted with each other all the time. Hopefully the decepticons are not just angry killing machines.

And soundwave will be in the sequel apparently.

It'd take a LOT of really horrible terrible one liners to ruin that. Even if optimus prime had a giant chevy logo on his chest, I'd be annoyed (and would bitch about it after the show), but I can ignore that shit pretty easily when he punches megatron in the face.

It's like complaining about the amount of near naked, oiled men in 300. I don't know about you, but really, the only times I noticed that was on the billboards on the way in and out of the movie, during the movie I was sort of distracted by him swinging his sword around and decapitating people. And in IMAX, those decapitated limbs were bigger than a car.

I must agree here. As much as I hate the blatant product placement that is bound to be shat all over anything from Michael Bay, if the latest trailer is truly representative of this movie, I'll find myself thoroughly entertained.

Do any of them even talk? From what I gathered from the trailer it looked like a bunch of akward robotic aliens thumping around and only the human characters spoke (and you can bet that the script will be an abortion)

to do transformers justice, they need to keep their personalities. it's not fair to say "as long as robots blow shit up, i'll be entertained". yea well.. that's nice, but its NOT transformers.

if the action is good (which it will be) and they give the robots more screentime to develop their personalities than the humans (not chance in hell), then it will be transformers. it's not gonna be transformers.

you do too. everyone does. it's gonna be robots blowing shit up with a bunch of humans mixed in for no reason at all cept for 1liners and tits and ass. but that's okay as long as we're all entertained. i mean michael bay could smear shit all over the screen and that would be just as entertaining.
