| It's popular to dislike Titanic, for reasons which mostly don't have to do with the movie. Just for the segment of the population that liked it. Which is wrong, but... that's humanity for you. All full of wind and no sails. My favorite Kevin Smith movie was Chasing Amy, Dogma was funny, Clerks was... novel I guess, I wasn't really a huge fan of it. Never saw Mall Rats. |

| Omg pwned by ruff-tuff Searyx. Truly your debating skills are legendary. Traffic was a collection of poorly rendered, trite, unbelievable sub-stories half of which were so stillborn that the film would have lost nothing if they'd been left out. The directing was plainly enjoyed more by the director than anyone else. The film kind of trundled to its conclusion without making much of a point. I honestly took it back to the rental shop wondering what all the fuss was about. On the other hand, John Woo's Hard Boiled has been listed here as over-rated which I find pretty startling. Somehow I managed to get past that without using any swear words. You fucking prick. |

I'd like to see the rationalization to this statement. Pretty sweeping (or ignorant) considering the topic at hand. Only reason I can come up for making a statement like this is "because I didn't see them" Enlighten me please!

| Overrated The Wizard of freaking Oz! I know I'm 30 now, but jesus christ I just sat through that shit and it was awful. And it's not because I dislike kids movies, I have a 3 year old son and love tons of kids movies we watch together (A Bug's Life, Toy Story, Chicken Run, and so on). But how in the hell do people love this so much (#53 on IMDb) and regard it as such a classic? Maybe I'm just used to modern flicks, but the story and songs and acting and dumbass costumes just did not do it for me. Whatever, prove me wrong but you can all keep it. Also add The English Patient, ZzzZzzzzzz... And ..|.. to whoever said Apollo 13 ![]() |

| Traffic was excellent. The point it made was about how futile, stupid and a waste of time the War on Drugs is to us all.... and how even the head of the War on Drugs (Douglas) saw this at the end. It's about teaching your kids family values. Not trying to run down some dude selling marijuana and overflowing our prisons. There were pleanty of excellent movies out the year Gladiator won. And Gladiator was not one of them. It was good, but not the best by far. |
