I'd like to see a battle of powerful sorcerers that doesn't involve breakdancing..
But then it has to introduce all the other wizards that play no role at all in the later books. I dont see how they can stretch the mirkwood subplot out for an entire movie without it either being stretched real thin. Or them making up random shit to fill the gaps. And they cant really use overt magic in a grand battle.

What book deals with Radagast the Brown? He was pretty awesome in LOTRO.

I think he's mentioned very briefly in The Fellowship of the Ring, and then discussed in a little more detail in The Unfinished Tales of Middle Earth. If the second movie ends up showing some White Council scenes, we may yet see some of him.

How exactly do you think the random changes made it better or more dramatic? They fucked up the ending to The Two Towers and added an IWIN button at Minas Tirith among other random things.
BTW I did say that the Fellowship changes where all good, I especially think the new ending was great.

As for Radagast the Brown, they breifly mention him in Lotr as he is the one who gets Gandalf off Isengard via his messages. He is mainly in The Hobbit though I think.

The reason I don't get mad about the IWIN button at Minas Tirith is because the film was by no means lacking in battle scenes. And whereas the book had the luxury of being able to quickly summarize the events of battles, you can't do that in a movie and retain the grandness of it. How different would it have been from Helm's Deep?

They could have replaced the retarded green ghosts with a horde of angry gondorians while making the riders of rohan get owned slightly less?

There are just too many random changes in the last two films imo, especially the butchered ending to the two towers.

I think the council of wizards would only be 3 wizards at that point. Radagast, Saruman, and Gandalf. The other two blue wizards (Pallando and someone else) went into the east long before.

Apperantly the actor James McAvoy. He was in Atonement last year,it was nominated for tons of awards and so was he. He's going to be in that new movie Wanted with Angelina Jolie.

His name, according to del Torro, is the only one he and Peter Jackson can agree on.

Del Torro confirmed awhile ago that he had picked his Bilbo, but would'nt say who.

I like James McAvoy. He's British and I've seen him in a couple of movies. I could see him being a good Bilbo.

*Edit* Shit sorry did'nt see the post about two up

I wonder if they will edit him into Fellowship of the Ring? Since they show Bilbo finding the ring at the start.

They did the same in Return of the Jedi with Haden Christian (is that his name?) although that was retarded as that already showed 50 year old vader without his mask in that movie and he was old.

I just re-read The Hobbit a few weeks ago and don't recall him being mentioned.

agree, but the idea isnt wrong. just done bad

however, the changes from the original story i really cant stand are Legolas and Gimli. One has become a slim, blonde inbreed between Terminator, Pai Mei and an Everquest's ranger (hello Endless Quiver), capable of owning a fucking army by himself while SURFING a shield down a stair. The other basically has become the clone of JarJar.

That's why Fellowship is the best of the 3. it's faithfull to the story, cut out the bullshit (Tombadil in primis), and the characters were not caricatures

EDIT - ah, forgot about Liv Tyler. she's hot like you want, but whenever she was on screen i wanted to cut my veins. if they have used her time to make Faramir what he was in the book it would have been much better
