Simone *spoiler, dont read if u dont want*

In general, I'm a fan of Al Pacino and his movies (excluding this and the Alaska flick he did (Insomnia)). If you rent Heat and after watching it decide to go to Simone because you loved Al Pacino in Heat I can assure you the difference will just ruin your opinion about Al Pacino. In Simone he plays some looser director who tries to be noticable by using digital model, and as a result digital model captures all the attention leaving him, yet again, in shade. He destroys the model with the virus which his smart wiz-kid daughter later removes and ends up in jail for killing Simone.

Plot is oookkk, acting is more or less fine, entertainment value i'd say at the ground level.

To sum it up, I expected a lot more from Al Pacino then this

Are you kidding? Insomnia was a WONDERFUL film by Christopher Nolan, the director of Memento!

Insomnia was some of Al's best work!!! Brilliant performance.

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that Simone was going to suck. Why would anyone even go see that it?

some people say you cant judge a movie by its trailer, but i think you can.

for the most part, they usually try to stuff some of the best stuff into the trailer to entice you to see the rest of it.

what am i leading up to? the trailer for simone had; quite frankly, nothing in it that looked even remotely amusing. and if you cant find entertaining content to fill a 2 minute preview with, i sure as heck dont expect to find anything good in the 2 hour version of the actual movie.

as for insomnia, one word: drama. you either enjoy drama movies, or you should avoid the genre. personally i think this was one of the best movies to come out this year. the only grudge i would put out on this film is it was advertised with more of an edge to it, i know many people who went in expecting an action/thriller and were disapointed.
