favourite director?

i looked through all the pages and didnt see a thread about this yet. the only thing somewhat pertaining to it was the speilberg vs other directors one - but this doesnt have anything to do with speilberg by himself. im just curious as to who your personal favourite directors are. for me - id have to say martin scorsese and oliver stone, probably scorsese my number 1 if i had to choose.

IMO

Sergio Leone - the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Ron Howard - Apollo 13 (You knew how it ends, but still able to make it suspenseful)

David Lynch.

Just because I love mind benders, and love to think, discuss and disect his movies with a group of friends. Christopher Nolan who did Memento has been the only other person that has come somewhat close to what Lynch does for me. Either you hate em or you love em.

If I had to pick only one, I'd have to say Quentin Tarantino.

director

Easily, John Ford is the greatest director of all time and my favorite.

Two other great directors close behind, David Lean (Lawrence of Arabia, The Bridge On The River Kwai...), and Sergio Leone (Once Upon A Time in the West, A Fistful of Dollars, and The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly..)
