The original plot was vietcong, not arabs as far as I know. They just modernized the terrorist group.

The difference is minimal (unlike Hulk for example...)

you're right... iraqis kidnapping a top military weapons technician and giving him 24 hours to build a missile then leaving him totally unsupervised while he builds himself a combat suit is a terrific plot... i don't know what i was thinking

It doesn't matter what you think Keg....that is the plot of Ironman slightly updated to the newest 'enemy'.

Are you suggesting that they make an Ironman movie and ignore the origins?? That would be like making the Hobbit and having the ring simply be an old family heirloom that he pulls out of a desk drawer one day cause its shiny.

So which part bothers you, the realism? Are you an Iraqi sympathizer? Its a man who builts a metal suit with rockets in the boots... going to need some suspension of disbelief for this one no matter what the plot is like.

Not being an Iron Man fanboi, can you explain the difference from the updated version of Iron man's origin to the original? other than its arabs now as the baddie instead of the vc back then of course.

I think they are trying to say that it's just plain retarded regardless of which brown people they chose to be bad guys.

If I got someone to build me a rocket, I'd damned well watch him and check he was building an actual rocket. It's not like it's hard to even introduce a tiny flaw that'd turn it unto a bomb, so you'd watch him like a hawk even if it was rocket shaped.

How did they not notice that it was body suit shaped? And also if he could build rocket powered body suits, he wouldn't have been captured in the first place... he'd have a squadron of rocket powered body suit troops guarding americas top scientist.
