No way, Bruce Campbell is waaaay too campy to try and do a super hero. These latest movies have done a great job of making the superheroes real; last thing I want to see is fucking Autolycus trying to act all hard. Robert Downey, Jr? Yes. Tobey McGuire? Yes. Christian Bale? Fuck yes. Bruce Campbell? No.

I think the perfect Thor would be a "less beefy" Triple H in his early 30s.

I mean....

This is Thor V3....

Captain America is a tough call regardless, you have to get a decent actor but keep the budget low, heh. His look is important as well.

Need to figure out a good female role though, Scarlet Witch is common Avengers figure.

Capt. America, Thor, Iron Man Updates (May 22nd 2008)

Quote:
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has confirmed to Sci-Fi Wire that the upcoming "The First Avenger: Captain America" will be a World War II period piece.

Feige says the film, scheduled for release in May 6th 2011, will serve to set up the eventual "Avengers" movie to be released six weeks later on July 1st.

He also dismissed the recent Matthew McConaughey casting talk, but did confirm the object glimpsed in Tony Stark's workshop in "Iron Man" is part of the character's shield.

So end it with Cap getting frozen. Makes sense, I like the decision.

I think setting it in WW2 is genius. Having a period piece, but then that supernatural/superhero element? Awesome. Really liked how it was done in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Man, the idea of getting to see WW2 era Cap with the Thompson and his old shield is so fap worthy.

This is actually looking pretty nifty. But well, so much can go wrong still. Yet I like it how they already now intend to tailor the events together somewhat on a larger scale, that alone is pretty cool.

How "Thor" is gonna act out with the story of Asgard and so on, I don't really know. As a Scandinavian myself that mythology is sorta on my backbone and while I liked the basic idea in Neil Gaiman's "American Gods", I usually dislike other interpretations that do not originate from around these parts. Arrogant as that may sound, I suppose it is all just a great fundament to build some entertainment from nevertheless

In fact I think it's more a matter of me always picturing the Thor character as someone who WASN'T a "Norse God", but rather a character who got powers similar and just got inspired from that. Because I love the Marvel universe but I like it to stay in some sort of "plausible" established boundaries. (Keep out mythology) Supposedly my kicker really is to leave out all these kinds of discourses and keep them to one level, plainly. No space interventions, no Norse mythology/God shit, no calling up demon powers or whatever. Marvel has mixed this up lots of times during the comics and sometimes it worked but a lot of times I personally always got disappointed. Hope I'm not the only on in that boat :P

PS. Thanks Screamfeeder and Malakriss for answering, btw. Never got to respond back then.

I believe in some issues, the Asgard Gods have been said to be extremely powerful mutants who have so much power the simple fact of "believing" they are Gods makes them effectively Gods. In the same way, Franklin Richard was so powerful he became Galactus simply by believing he was, and his powers did the rest.. (that was in Earth X I believe). Anyways, that's an explaination of the Norse Gods in the Marvel Universe that is worth any other..

Sir, I would like to see your left nut in an apocalyptic space movie. Vin may be a horrible actor, but the movie just has about the coolest setting in about any movie ever.

The only thing I could really hope for would be a Warhammer 40k movie to take the genre to the next level. Some Imperials + Space Marines VS. some Dark Eldar with a surprise Tyranid swarm... fucking EPIC. Until then, I'll settle for Chronicles of Riddick.
