| Damon hardly seems charismatic enough to me.

| Cap was always my favorite comic book character but I'll be darned if I can really think of someone who would be perfect for the part. The only person that comes to mind, and I'm not totally sold on him, is Matthew McConaughey.

Must just be the douche vibe the guy radiates, but I'll admit Cap would be hard to cast well for. Just for a name, Chris O'Donnell? ![]() Yes he played Robin, including nipples, but he would be a good cast for clean-cut, all-American image, though maybe not as a seasoned, older Captain America.

Having the guy that played Robin going to playing one of the oldest and most respected Marvel characters has bad idea written all over it with permanent marker. | |

| Brad Beyer would look good as Captain America, but I'm not an expert on acting ability. He plays on Jericho, a TV series on CBS. I think he does really well, and he is relatively unknown. Isn't Captain America young again in the Ultimate universe? |

+19 Internets | That's what I mean though, using the alternate universe thing as an excuse to make sweeping changes purely to sell comics. Because they have an alternate universe they are comfortable killing him off in the canon. I think it's a good idea if they use it to retell some of the dated stories or renew interest in the heroes, because that can translate back to the canon universe. Whatever, maybe I'm not making myself very clear, no sleep the past few days, but in my head it makes sense. |

+8 Internets | Stephen Colbert for Capt. America! Anyway, liked the movie. I'm a sucker for most of the Marvel movies and other superhero movies, and I really dig the Marvel universe. But I was never heavily into comics other than reading Heavy Metal and other graphic novels in high school and earlier in middle school I was reading Marvel stuff for a while until I decided that there were other things I would prefer my parents bought me. I was getting into Iron Man at that time though (this was like back in the '80s) and I recall the guy in the suit in the issues I was reading being black. So was Tony's friend in the airforce supposed to be the guy I remember being in the suit in those issues? Does he end up in a suit of his own, or take over for Tony at some point temporarily or permanently? |
