| I see. The problem is that Stan Lee said that they created Thor to be stronger than any mortal on the Earth. Somehow, Brad Pitt doesn't look stronger than anyone else on the planet. Thor pretty much has the height and bulk of the Hulk (and is just as strong). I guess the problem with Thor is that they might have to CGI him to make him look right. Even a bulked up Pitt doesn't look right. Here's a comparison between him in Troy, and Thor. Isn't Thor like 7 feet tall, 600 pounds and can lift 100+ tons? | But that was decades ago that Thor looked like that. We've seen him, more often than not, in his buffed up state. And no one wants to see some pencil-necked male model play as the god of Thunder. He would have been better off in Zoolander. |

+11 Internets | 6'6" and 660lbs. But that's not necessarily because of his huge muskels, Asgardian flesh and muscles are 3 times as dense as humans. They wouldn't be obsessed with making him super tall, but with minimal effort they could make him look taller than he is. He's just under 6', so it would be easier to add a half foot to him than to lop a foot off of Elijah Wood for Frodo. I'd worry more about the acting than the size for these flicks. Unless it's the Hulk or Thing or someone whose entire defining characteristic is just being fucking huge.

+9 Internets | I think Pitt could definately pull off Thor. I think people would prefer a top-notch actor who can pull off a reasonable approximation of the look to someone who looks authentically huge and Nordic but lacks the ability to be anything but a one-dimensional grunt-fest. PS. "Pencil-necked male model"? I think you just hate Brad Pitt. |

Look at Hugh Jackman as Logan. He is over a foot taller than good old Patch but did a great job acting like him for the movie. | |

| if the muscles and skin are 3x as dense, then in reality thor is a skinny lean man 6'6" ~220lbs. which is pretty damn SMALL for a 6'6" person they need to get a Good actor that is a bit on the muscular side to pull it off, not some omfg huge actor.. heck getting someone that is very fit at 6'3 at about 250 would do. |

| I think Brad could pull that off. Remember they can cast small actors around Brad to make him look even bigger, as well as using force perspective shots like they did in the Lord of the Rings. Forced Perspective shots are a well known trick that has been employed in movies since the beginning. Small doors, low ceilings, depth of field tricks, staggering the height on architecture. If they want brad to look God Like ,it would be pretty easy to pull off.
