I always loved that in the Marvel Universe, with his technology, the rest of the world's technology, god beings, mutants, etc. THEY CAN'T FIX HIS FUCKING HEART!

It is fixed to the point of it not even having been mentioned in years.

Great fucking movie. Loved it from beginning to end. I didn't know about the ending after the credits I should have stayed but I saw the spoiler posted in this thread.

This is honestly one of those movies that I would pay twice to see. They deserve every one of my movie dollars. heres hoping for many many sequels.

I just saw the movie in a theater in China, it was edited in service of the people! Couple of parts were oddly cut, didn't kill the movie though. I'll have to see it again when I get back to the U.S.

No word yet on next year's Marvel movie or if there will even be one thanks to the writer's strike. Sounds like the plan is Thor, Captain America, Ant-Man, with the Avengers following these. Iron Man 2 sounds like it'll be out in 2010. It seems Marvel wants all the same actors in Avengers as the recent movies or they probably won't make it, so Downey will almost definitely be in it.

Actually in the new Skrull Invasion series Tony Stark gets captured by the Skrull and thrown in a prison cell, prompting Professor X to ask him if his hearts going to be OK. The issue is at most 2 months old.

You've confused the events of the Kree-Skrull War which took place a long time ago and are being flashed back to in some issues leading up to the new Secret Invasion (of which Issue 1 just came out a couple weeks ago).

Just saw it. Awesome movie. Pretty much agreed what everyone else said, Downey nails the part.

I don't think it was the best comic book movie ever (Road to Perdition, the 2nd Batman, and Sin City are my top 3 -_-) but it's probably #1 or #2 best Marvel movie (Howard the Duck 4tw?).

Only thing I was disappointed with was the lack of gun play between the two suits. Still looked better than Transformers but they're also slightly smaller so it's less akward looking (IMO!).

I thought the Avengers tie in at the end was cool, but I'm skeptical they'll ever be able to pull a movie off with all the favorites while still doing the comic justice. I can't even imagine the suits/looks that Captain America, Ant Man, or Wasp would get :|

Just saw it, I thought it was pretty good, decently exciting, somewhat corny at parts with the assistant love interest thingy. Well worth seeing, I guess I didn't really state anything that anyone else didn't.

They'd make a Cpt. America movie, have him beat some ass, then at the end he'll be walking out of a courthouse, then gracefully receive a head shot. Credits Roll.

Clip after credits: Nick Fury, standing over Cpt.America as he wakes up.

Batman movie(Keaton and Nicholson) will always hold a special place in my heart, but I think this is the best Comic book based movie ever made. Possibly the top grossing film this year unless Indy is just ridiculous.
It's opening day was the 14th best opening day gross all time, but it did not have a huge per screen average as far as major blockbusters go. I imagine it will get great word of mouth though and not drop off nearly as much as some of the others have.

Iron Man has less name recognition. Batman, Spider-Man, Superman all had pretty good cartoons to go along with them.

The issue where he and the rest of the Illuminati got captured and had the tests run on them? When Mr. Fantastic was being stretched across the room? Sometime around that issue I also was shown just how powerful Black Bolt is. When looking for the Infinity Gems his voice was able to open a rift in space time. Also, being a guy that the Beyonder worships tells you how much of a bad ass he is.

Not a bad film, I was pleasantly surprised. On the other hand, there were a few corny parts that just weren't needed. The drinking/stewardess scene for instance. Oh, and Stan's cameo was... ug bad. But I suppose if you can get over the fact of what he did in the opening scene in the cave, well, might as well swallow the rest of the film. War Machine and Shield tie in was money.

RDJ did a damn fine acting job.
