Alternate universe stuff is so annoying. It's such a copout. I don't even read mainstream comics really, but the idea is so lame it bugs me just by existing.

I used to love that kind of stuff, but only to a point.

Age of Apocalypse was some of my favorite times in comics, but was also when I left my first job and stopped reading comics as it concluded.

when i started to buy comics Marvel/DC usually covered most of the space of the entire store. now they have barely 25% dedicated to them while the rest is mangas and indipendents (cosider i live in italy tho. this is our situation, maybe yours is different

Hey hey, the first two volumes of the Ultimates by Millar and Hitch were awesome stuff. Lots of action, plots that weren't too bad, some funny dialogue and awesome moments (the Hulk ripping Abomination's arms off then punching him so hard his skull disconnects from his body? Cheesy but awesome).

Otherwise... Ultimate Spiderman never appealed to me, but I really dislike Bendis. Haven't read enough of the other stuff to pass judgment. Except Ultimate Power. God that was shocking. Fuck you for ruining the Supreme Power universe, Joe Q.

The Max Punisher is without a doubt one of the best comics to be made in a long long time.
