Actually good news IMO. Thought Samuel L. Jackson was a horrible cast of Fury. The white/black fury still makes no sense to me though. I dont see why they couldnt go with the original bad ass looking fury that was around for 40 years instead of the one that has been around just a couple.

Are you serious? You know they actually had to get Sam Jackson's permission to make the new Nick Fury, since it was completely modeled on him, right? And the black Nick Fury is only in the Ultimate universe (which I believe this movie is supposed to be in, basically). In 616 (standard Marvel), he's still the same old guy.

What does them making a couple commics with his face since he landed the role have anything to do with his ability to portray Nick Fury in a movie? And the ultimate Fury is different from the Original. I would still rather see the original Classic Fury rather than one that has only been out a few years.

The problem is, all the marvel movies are modeled more around the Ultimate unverse, not 616. I'm pretty sure the ultimate comics beginning even coincided with the launch of the X-men and Spiderman movie franchises.

But 616 Fury is way better, yes.

I normally took it as the X-men movies were bassed off of uncanny.

Edit: Glad to read this after looking up some information. Really was hopping the movie would go into his personal issues.

Just for reference, the Ultimate version of him has been around since before this movie was cast.

Basically the Ultimate universe is supposed to be a restart to everything so new people can get into the characters. Everyone has new origins and stories, and are generally much younger and "hip". 616 is the basic Marvel universe that's been going on for 50+ years and has gotten crazy complicated.
