+6 Internets | xXx had pretty good music, I came into the movie knowing Feuer Frei by Rammstein was in it cause I already had it on my playlist, but after I heard it in the opening everytime Vin did a stunt all I could think of in my mind was BANG! BANG!...Feuer Frei. Blade 1 and 2 were both good. The movie theatre version of The One was perfect, they totally killed the music whenever they redid it for video. If you saw it in theatres you probably know what I am talking about, how they played back-to-back-to-back songs when the guy was escaping, and then whenever they fought on the bridge in the factory, they played The Reckoning and then went straight to Blood Brothers when they went under the sparks. In the video version, all of that was cut out though . |

| Hans Zimmer sometimes makes great scores (Black Rain, Lion King), and sometimes it's utter crap (Drop Zone, House of the Spirits). John Williams has had quite a few off-days in scoring films, but mostly he's good. My favorite Williams piece is from Hook and called "Hook-napped" - the sequence where Peter Banning and his wife return from the dinner and the house has been broken into, following the scratch on the wall up the stairs...too bad the rest of the score is so uneven. Star Wars, Empire, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T are all top notch. Oh, and Jaws is, of course, a classic. Lalo Schifrin! (Bullit, Mission Impossible, Kelly's Heroes, Cool Hand Luke, Coogan's Bluff and too many more to mention) James Horner's score to Glory is one of my favorites, as well, as are Cocoon, Legends of the Fall, Braveheart - I love how he steals entire passages from other composers (like Jerry Goldsmith ).But best of all is ... Bernard Hermann is in my opinion the best composer to ever score for movies with Danny Elfman (Batman, Edward Scissorshands, Beetlejuice, and all of Tim Burtons other films) a close second. Bernard Hermann has been extremely stabile in his work, composing great scores like: The Ghost and Mrs. Muir The Day The Earth Stood Still The Wrong Man Vertigo North By Northwest The Twilight Zone theme (duh nuh nuh nuh duh nuh nuh nuh Picture a man going no a journey beyond sight and sound...) Psycho Cape Fear (the original) Fahrenheit 451 Taxi Driver and many more.

| OKay, im going to get flamed for this but... The Tangerine Dream soundtrack to Legend. I just absolutely LOVE it. It really made the whole movie feel like a big fairy tale, and it has that 80s tinge to it that makes it all nostalgic.. Someone stole my damn CD at work, so either someone else other than me loved it, or they hated it that much... |
