+1 Internets | The Dark Knight I know it's a little bit early, but with Chris Nolan's 'The Prestige' pretty much wrapped up, developments are starting to move along. With that said, here's a little newspiece to kick off the thread: http://www.latinoreview.com/news.php?id=736 Keep in mind, the role has only been offered to him, he hasn't accepted it yet. It's also rumored that Phillip Seymour Hoffman has been offered the role of the Penguin. Thoughts?

+53 Internets | I'd vote for Mark Hamill (sp?) simply because he WAS the joker for so damn long. Also for the fact that they could introduce lightsabers into the Batman universe. /geek explosion

+25 Internets | Not only that, but Mark Hamill is easily the best Joker this side of the Mississippi. I can't imagine anyone else but Mr. Devito playing The Penguin, though. Although, the original TV series Penguin was pretty good. Personally, I'm torn. I know this is the one that's supposed to reintroduce The Joker, yes? Are they going to make him Joker Begins and do it all dark and shit, or will they keep the classical Joker? I think I'd be excited about either one, really. Fuckit. Bring on the sequel. |

+38 Internets | You seen Lords of Dogtown? Maybe that was the documentary. I dunno. But the one about skateboarding? You wouldn't even recognize him in that one. I was pretty impressed by his performance in that, personally. Dogtown and Zboys? Maybe THAT was the documentary. I can't remember. |

+25 Internets | Yeah I saw Lords of Dogtown, and except for Heath 'McCardboard' Ledger, the movie was pretty damn good. That's what's kind of weird about the fucker, though. I always get annoyed by his acting, but he's usually in a pretty damn good movie. Like maybe Ben Affleck. Yeah. |

+25 Internets | Good Will Hunting, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dazed and Confused, Armageddon was decent enough I suppose, and a slew of other big budget films that you may or may not have liked but pulled in some good cash. |

| This time around I really hope they show off Christian Bale's martial arts skills. He was awesome in Equilibrium and would be able to pull off moves one would expect from Batman. If they do that weird shaking the camera/blurring the lense during the fights scene again, it will be the last movie I see in this Batman series.

you forgot the stupid plan to destroy gotham. There are some villainous plans that require a suspension of your belief. But the Batman Begins one was retardedly farfetched. It was also over complex, and didn't really do shit.

| Heath ledger could possibly do really well at this. They seem to be picking relatively lesser known actors for the villians. Heath can act well and has good charisma on screen, so we'll see. Plus he has one very important requirement for playing the joker: a fucking huge mouth. Brekk, did you forget you were watching a comic movie or something? The whole "complicated villians scheme" was par for the course, and Liam neeson can make almost anything work. The mtv-edits in all the action scenes did take away from the movie, it could have been so much better if they let christan bale do his thing in full view. But I still loved the movie as a whole.
