Umm, yes they can and yes I do. If they said "This movie is better then the original" then you would have a point but they are not talking about the fucking movie they are talking about a character in it. I can tell you right now EASILY that Ledger's Joker is better then Jacks. The trailers and clips that have been released have more then showed us how he does the character and he is fantastic at it.

I don't have to see the movie to know that he has pulled the role off flawlessly. Even if I leave the theater disappointed with the movie as a whole I know right now for a fact that I won't be disappointed at Ledgers vision of The Joker.

I swear the IQ of these boards fucking drops daily. They have this neat little thing called reading. It is fucking awesome man you should try it out.

Hint: Character does NOT = movie. You do not have to watch a film to see how a actor plays his part. The Dark Knight could be worse then Daredevil and it won't mean shit. How Heath plays The Joker is spot on for how I have always seen the character. Jacks version was awesome, don't get me wrong. It was just a very PG version of the character.

Another example is Jack Sparrow. I knew before even seeing the first movie that I was going to love the character even if the movie sucked. Depp nailed it, and you don't have to watch hours worth of film to come to that conclusion.

As much as I agree that he was a likable character, that comparison doesn't work. Ledger is playing an established character. Depp was/is the first in that role. You can't "nail" it, if you're the first one doing it. If anything, the ones who "nailed it" was the writers who created the character.

Yes, don't bother because you are obviously narrow minded. We have seen plenty of clips, trailers and teasers. If that is not enough for you to see that he is VERY good as the Joker. Then you are wasting your breath.

Actually, I agree that he's very good. I just don't agree that he's better than Jack's Joker, because I try reserve comparative decisions until I've viewed both pieces of work I'm comparing. But I guess I'm silly like that.

And I'll be seeing this opening day, as I stated before, simply because the Joker is my favorite fiction character.

Never called it Oscar worthy. I said I have seen enough to know that his version of the Joker is far better TO ME because it is more in line with how I see the Joker and not how Jack did it. He has the creepy fucking laugh, the look, the voice and plays it evil as hell instead of silly. I loved Jack's performance but I just couldn't see him doing some of the twisted shit that The Joker does in the comics. I can see ledger doing it.

Trailers still give a decent idea... Most of M. Night Shymalan's movies/trailers look like absolute crud. Why in god's name would people see lady in the water after watching the trailer? Same with the village, the happening, etc.

In any case why are we even comparing Jack and Ledger? They are totally different joker's they are going for. I don't know if we would have been able to handle Ledgers joker back in the day. I am very excited and even a bit scared of seeing him.

This thing called different opinions seems to be tearing people up inside. They are totally different versions and Jack's will live on forever as pure awesome. I personally prefer my Joker twisted and evil, which is why I say ledgers version is better.

Id of laughed if I met Jack's version on the street... Ledgers is fucking creepy.
