+25 Internets | The sky hook thing has been used in other movies, or possibly tv shows, so as soon as he mentioned it, I knew what was going to happen. Was still pretty cool though. |

| They definately used it in one of the old bond movies... I'm thinking goldfinger? EDIT: I'm totally wrong, now I'm thinking thunderball. Time to go get a vodka martini and start watching some bond. |

+200 Internets | As for the question as to why Batman can take all that physical abuse, did you not see the suit he was wearing?

| The method Batman used to escape the building is very similar to one used by Special Operations. It's a rig called a SPIE (Special Insertion and Extraction). I've been through the training, but was never (un)lucky enough to use it live during my service. Granted, the extraction isn't nearly as violent as the one Batman underwent, but I can imagine that it could get pretty bad if a pilot were trying to get his guys out of an extremely hot spot. At any rate, arguing realism in a Comic Book movie earns you the title of retard.

| As cool as it is, I think you guys have sufficiently covered the sky hook thing~ Spoiler Alert, click show to read: I'm curious what people saying Ledger's performance is overrated would think is great acting. I can't think of any inconsistency in his acting or anything he could have done better really. I saw it twice in 3 days, and whatever things I could pick at, Ledger's not one of them. |

Seeing however, first in Batman begins, the stupidity of the microwave that steams water in fractions of a second a 100 yards away but doesn't affect people standing right next to it, Ninja cults in rural China and bat-decoying boots, and now with TDK all the blatantly impossible physics, one has to wonder what kind of movies people were actually watching? So stuff like that is cool with me. It makes a good comic-book movie. But goddam people with half a brain should see it for what it is, a high-fly comic-book fantasy that is any part as out there as Tim Burton's or Joel Schumacher's Batman ever was, if not more so.

| More records: -$314 million in 10 days. Previous record in days to cross the 300 million mark was held by PotC: DMC in 16 days! -Biggest second weekend gross ever at $75.6 million, beating Shrek 2's 72 million. #23 all time domestic gross currently and has a good shot at beating SW: A new hope's $460ish million for 2nd place all time. |

+4 Internets | Saw it last night. Strangely I found the "bat-vioce" annoying and too forced at times. This didnt bother me at all in Batman Begins, but I couldnt shake the distraction it caused in this movie. Specifically in calm dialogue like the rooftop scene with BM, Dent, and Gordon discussing the Hong Kong mission. As for Joker, I went in extremely sceptical with all the hype surrounding his performance. Not only did it live up, but far exceeded my expectations. It is a real shame Ledger wont be around for a sequel. Like others have said, I too feel that Ledger stole the lead in this film. Great stuff.

The one time the voice bothered me was when Batman was talking to Lucius Fox in the room with the giant bat-sonar machine. Fox knows who Batman is. No one else was in the room. When he kept talking in the "I've been smoking since the age of 3" voice, it did seem a bit retarded.
