It has been trimmed from 3 screens to one at my local theater, and from 12+ showings a day back to 3, then to 2... but it's still holding steady at 2 and has never exited. This is true for most locations. The theaters still showing TDK are those that have not yet had it leave their screens yet.

I'ts still impressive in this day and age to warrant screen space. Of course a lot of that is thanks to the total lack of any decent movies being released. Early this year was amazing but this summer has been one of the worst in recent memory.

I've got to agree. There hasnt been a single film worth going to the movies for since TDK. This year has been abysmal.

There was Tropic Thunder and Traitor, but yeah the summer was a real letdown. In fact there's only a handful of good ones left in the year.

Nah 2008 was a great year for movies:
Rambo=win button and there was a ton of really good indie films as well. The focus was the summer I know but still some things make up for lack of summer flicks.

Didn't think it was worth a new thread, but an interesting read none the less.

Nolan Talks A Third "Batman" Film (October 28th 2008)

yeah Director Unsure About a Third Batman Movie

basically the same thing.

If I were him, I would not under any circumstances take the third film. It's far to risky on so many levels.

While it didn't make as much money as the Titanic, it will no doubt sell a shit ton more DVDs and merchandise. They will offer him such a ridiculously absurd amount of money, it will be almost impossible to refuse.

He already has a ridiculously absurd amount of money though, doubling your fortune from "basically unspendable" to "totally unspendable" isn't that big a draw I'd wager.

Eh. Even if the director was to receive all gross receipts, and assuming the movie didn't have to cover costs, or contribute to shareholder wealth, he'd still only have $1b. I doubt he made even $100m from TDK. That's hardly unspendable. T Boone Pickens gives away a billion dollars in charitable donations every year.
