| a scanner darkly saw it thursday night at a midnight showing ( i live in austin) and today (sat) it's still going through my head. the movie was fucking awesome...a little different that what i expected but still an instant classic. robert downey jr. is offically a genius. His role pretty much made this movie. Woody Harrelson was HILARIOUS. If your a fan of linklater, see it immediately. If your a fan of 'drug' movies, go see it immedialtely. If your neither, still go see it. And remember, everything is NOT going to be ok. |

| It's only been released in NY, LA, Boston, and a handful of other cities. Atlanta and Chicago don't even have it, and those are 'tier 1' cities when it comes to limited release movies. Fuck Hollywood. Fuck them up their stupid asses. |

| According to some movie release dates Ive seen, its scheduled for wider release in a couple weeks, with a few more limited openings every week. And it is in a few theaters in Chicago from what I hear, none near me tho (the big AMC 30 usually gets EVERYTHING around here, I expect it to get it eventually tho) I really want to see this film. |

| Saw it on Sunday in Boston. I had been feverishly anticipating it, and it lived up to my expectations. I haven't read the book in a long while, but from what I remember it was more or less true to source. That being said, the rotoscoping and shot selecting really made the film visually exciting. The acting was top notch all the way around (even Keanu! - weakest performance was Winona) and fit the characters well. By far the best movie I've seen this year... blew away everything else. As mentioned, Downey Jr. stole every scene he was in, supurb job with the character. If you can... GO SEE IT and help ensure that more movies like this get made. Animale

I can see a lot of PKD fans loving this adaptation but I think I may have been expecting more. One conclusion I did arrive upon is that I'd hate to see Ubik made into film anytime soon, whereas before this movie I thought that would've been a good idea. | |

| On my recent trip to New York, I caught a showing of it. I thought it was excellent, and lived up to my expectations having re-read the book recently. Notable for me was Downey's preformance as Jim Barris. Most of his scenes were filled with fluid gestures, and he was for the most part, bouncing off walls. The humor was great, and the errie soundtrack fit right in. To lastly add, the Freck/Muti Eyed Creature scene (Not a spoiler, especially if you've seen trailer) was probably one of the most enjoyable sequence of events I've seen in film. Whoever was narrarating that did a wonderful job. |

+8 Internets | Hmm if its faithful to the book it should be good. Most of the movies based on his novels change a lot and end up sucking. Blade Runner and Total Recall were good. Minority Report was ok I guess. Paycheck kinda blew IMHO. Never saw Impostor, Screamers, or Confessions of a Crap Artist. The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch was my favorite book I have read by him so far. |
