umm airplane anyone???

airplane has more quotes and sight gags than any movie in existance. you can watch airplane 100 times and still not catch everything.

'jimmy, do you like gladiator movies?"

I think you misread the topic, quechal. This is a list of comedies that only YOU thought were funny, and no one else.

^-^

I thought Men at Work (Charlie Sheen, Emilio Estevez) was f'in hilarious back in high school. I only had like one other friend that found it funny heh.

The rent-a-cops and Keith David's part were priceless.

I also thought the The Beach has some really funny moments. /shrug When you watch movies time & time again cause there's nothing on TV, only TMN, you find funny parts.

Slapstick (is that the right term?) comedies like Naked Gun, Airplane, etc. I.E. anything with Leslie Nielsen. A lot of my friends aren't into the whole genre.

Airplane was indeed hilarious. Among my favorite parts were the jive talking black guys. And of course, the captain and the kid.

"Jimmy, have you ever seen a full grown man naked before?"

Also of note is Kareem Abdul Jabar playing a pilot in the first one. Kid comes up to the cockpit, and starts saying how his dad says Kareem has been slacking in basketball.

OT: I was at my sister's graduation June 14th and Kareem was there...his daughter was graduating. I asked him how many people challenged him to a game...he said "11."

Back to the thread.

The Waterboy

All my friends thought it was stupid but I couldn't stop laughing.

Saving Silverman. Most people I've talked to didn't like it; I thought the movie was pretty damn funny. Jack Black and Steve Zahn have awesome chemistry, and the girls were funny too.

Gross Pointe Blank. It's nice to see John Cusak not waste his talent on crappy romantic comedies like America's Sweethearts or Serendipity, and do smart and funny movies like GPB and High Fidelity.

The Royal Tenenbaums... in the theatre, maybe 10% of the audience AT MOST laughed more than once or twice. Really clever, fine humor gets past most people who'ld rather watch Bubble Boy over and over.

I know that it wasn't supposed to be a comedy, but I couldn't stop laughing throughout Dracula 2000, and this was without chemical enhancements!

The Pirate Movie. I dunno if anyone else has even seen it, much less thought it was funny. It's a musical pirate comedy from like 1980 or so. How can you go wrong?
