| I've seen worse movies. I mean, it's WAY better than the first Dungeons and Dragons movie, and comparable to the second. I'd rather see it a second time than have to watch that Sean Connery dragon movie (Dragon Heart?) The parallels to Star Wars aren't as obvious as everyone makes out, although it's very cliche, the editing is horrible, and it needs at least 20 more minutes to fill in all the huge leaps it makes (although maybe NOT having those 20 minutes it does in fact make it a better movie...) Anyone that suffered through the books, does the dragon go from egg to adult in the course of a day there too? |

| No see thats the thing, the dragon grew normally in the books. It took a good while and they pointed out the dragons size on numerous occasions in the book. You knew how long it was taking Saphira to grow, and it sure as hell wasn't a simple fly in the air, magical lightning bolts, poof i'm huge and talking ordeal. |

| Clearly they needed to give the dragon a generic human-form transformation with obligatory nakedness afterwards...

Not to mention that hiding (and feeding) a growing Dragon in time when the King's soldiers go Nazi on anyone and everyone to find some "traitors" and nearly everyone in the little village gets ready to turn in their own grandmother just to prove themselves as loyal citizens.. not to mention some monstrous headhunters searching for the lost egg, goes a good way to really set the stage of "we-live-in-a-land-ruled-by-a--ruthless-tyrant". Kinda missed that in the movie too... | |

| And not to mention the total absence of Dwarves, lack of Elven Ears on the Elves, not to mention Eragon not getting dealt a serious injury at the end of the battle - spoiler: Without the elven ears, nor the injury, his whole 'transformation into a bad ass elf' sequence in the next movie is either going to be non-existent or just really fucking stupid looking, the complete absence of the Twins, Brom's friend Jode...damn it's just even more sad when it's all listed out like that. |

| Wait what? He becomes an elf in book 2? Now, I can see Luke becoming a Jedi, but someone who is really an elf, but thinks, looks, acts and *is* one race of beings cannot become another race. Sigh, well, I guess when it's aimed to be sold in the Young Teens section, you can't ask for too much.
