Edit: Oops, just Siryn and Jubilee were in the classroom. Psylocke was one of the "pawns" apparently. What a waste. Last edited by Vorph : 05-26-2006 at 11:15 PM.

| Copy-pasted from the other topic. Overall I liked the movie as a final chapter in this trilogy. It kept it's big screen adapted style pretty well. That said, no too many effects (Phoenix in fire, different suits etc.). The effects they did make were more "clean" and pretty well done. I thought you got a pretty good feeling of how the mutants are different with their powers and how it actually demands them to be creative with them. I can't remember them being divided into categories (based on their powers) but I think it was a neat idea here. Kinda gave a pretty good clue. About the killings I actually think they were good. My dearest Jesus, Phoenix literally owned everyone and killed them instantly more or less. That was pure ownage, it wasn't even that dramatic, just effective and cynical. I never liked Cyclops during the movies (he got fucked from the start), so no matter he died and we didn't see him battle much. In the comics he was always the sensible leader kinda guy. Jean and Wolvy aspect came and was as it was supposed to be, a bit cheesy, yes, but acceptable in my book. I wish we'd see more to Iceman and Pyro. Both having potentially great powers and I wish they'd add something like "I've evolved/developed myself a lot more, become more powerful, etc. cause of training or whatever. I wish we'd see Rogue getting Wonderwoman's powers soon and Kitty Pride was pretty cool in this movie as well. Angel was a nice "side story" but as an individual mutant he can pretty much only fly, right? So once again, didn't expect that much, a fine ending for the two other movies. Shame I didn't catch the last ending after the credits. Dunno what they wanted to message with Magneto and the chess, the way I saw it, they were made of wood. Perhaps he got new powers controlling wood/plants, or as you guessed (most obvious one) he and others may be able to get the powers back by will or the cure didn't work permanently. PS. Storm and Wolvy (even Kelsey Grammer as Beast) were ownage, especially at the final fight. Wolverine's fight in the woods near Magneto's base was great. PPS. No Gambit in all of the three movies is the most retarded part. Overall I think I agree much with Runnen's review. Just tossed some random points in there and now I read his.

| I was sort of pissed at the end of the kitty pride / juggs chase because lawls Jugs stupid his powers are gone he knock him self out...but problem is he isn't a mutant so kitty should have been road-kill. I guess it's minor and since infinite license is taken with every other aspect of the X-men, I guess it's no big deal in the greater scheme of things. Also, in terms of holes...why were the X-men fighting a Sentinel in the danger room when Sentinels didn't exist in the real world (not our real world, the "X-men Universe") yet. Funny coincidence or lame ploy at fanboi pleasing? I thought it was stupid honestly. As a movie, just a movie, it was pretty good and a fun time. As an X-men movie it sucked pretty hard. I'm glad I saw it, but I knew it was going to be garbage. So many retarded plot holes and stupid choices...bad writing and bad filmmaking as everyone else has pointed out and will continue to point out. Still, I'm glad we're getting superhero movies, even if some miss the mark (really really miss the mark). Gotta have some crap get through to get Batman Begins, Sin City, and Spider-Man 1 etc. |

| I liked it a ton. The changes to the plot can be mostly forgiven due to the fact that 40 minutes into the movie when the Shi'ar(sp) shows up in spaceships 90% of the audience would release a collective "WTF?!" and throw popcorn. Spoiler Magneto abandoning Mystique was pretty lame. Magneto isn't a monster. |

+2 Internets | Was decent, easily the worst out of the three, and I doubt they'll make a fourth Also, does anyone have a link to a place that has the entire story from the comics written out? I'd love to read it. Spoilers Worst part about the entire movie was that the "mutant army"'s only "power" was getting it's ass kicked by Wolverine & co... Didn't feel epic at all the me, felt like a DotA match where it's about 5v5 and the "pawns" or "creeps" just get owned left and right. |

| Yeah besides the general lamo plot and some really excessing overstating of some plot points, the final fight with Magneto's army really pushed it over the line for me. Spoilers: Magneto is supposed to really be on the side of mutants, and really not be a "bad guy" in the traditional sense. The moral ambiguity between him and Prof. X helps define both characters, not only that, its one of the themes that they show consistently in the movie, but this whole "That's why we send the pawns in first" is NOT in character, period. As the movies tend to drive home over and over, Magneto can freeze Wolverine at will. Why didn't he even do this little thing at the beginning of the grand melee? Where did this Magneto that stands by and watch his fellow mutants die come from? And why the FUCK were all the mutants in the army straight from the Underworld School of Superpowers? Aside from one or two their only power seemed to be....jumping 5 feet in the air and getting their asses kicked? As far as fights and special effects go, the movie delivered - in some ways more than the first two. The effects for Jean and her powers were well done, powerful and creepy. Storm being more fully realized as a character and fighter was nice - I'm no fan of Halle Berry but she actually put some effort into things this time through. Overall I feel the first two X-men movies were good as movies in their own right. This installment definitely was more of an eye-candy pleaser and fell short in other ways. The best way I can describe it is the X1 and 2 are "Star Wars Original Trilogy" quality, and X3 is more "New Trilogy". |

Rebecca Romijn with dark hair was so damn sexy, she almost made a full blown lesbian out of me. Those eyes of hers are killer.

Its because It almost became a sex scene with Jean-Grey. I personally thing Jean looked better with her hair from the second movie, and yeah Rebecca was smokin hot when she turned back to normal.

| So quick mention of Psylocke Big waste, don't think she was one of the pawns but was part of Magneto's group that gets evaporated by Phoenix at the end...so how is that for an introduction? Next we'll hear Gambit was in X-men but he died too. Re: Phoenix What crappy special effects, reused to the point of being overused effects did they give her? I was really hoping for her to do something cool like burst into flame at the end and have wolverine's charge be way more intense. Where it gets to the adamantium on a large portion (not just sternum) and perhaps even show the fiery reflection or be glowing red from the fire. Whatever, missed opportunity. And definetly Colossus and Juggerenaut should have fought. |
