DVDs - where to buy

Where do those of you that buy DVDs purchase them from? I am mostly interested in finding some websites that are trustworthy, have good prices, and a good selection of older flicks as well as new releases, but if you have a brick and mortar place thats worth it lemme know. In case it isn't mentioned, some feedback on Columbia house and the other club type deals would be greatly appreciated as well.

on a side note, has anyone tried Netflix, and if so, what do you think of it? It almost sounds too good to be true.

Thanks in advance.

A coworker of mine loved Netflix. She always had stacks of DVDs on her desk every week. Personally, im too lazy to mail anything, even though they pre-address everything for you, id just simply forget. Plus I dont have a lot of time, so I still have a stack of DVDs ive bought well over a year ago I still haven't watched yet.

I've bought a lot of DVDs from DVDEmpire.com .. No complaints..

But usually, I get them from local shops (Best Buy..), and go online for the more rare stuff..

Express.com usually has good deals and if you live in California, if you order something on a weekday morning, expect it at your house in the mail either the next day or the day after with no extra charge.

If you live in Canuckia, Future Shop has the best prices on DVD's, computer games, and CD's, 90% of the time. Most DVD's are around $22 CDN, CD's around $14, and computer games about $60-65 (except for some of the new more expensive ones, like W3 at $85 and NWN at $80). They also have excellent selection. I have never tried their online service, as no matter where you are in Edmonton, there is a future shop within 15 minutes anyway. I would assume it's pretty good.

On an interesting note, they were bought out by Best Buy about a year ago (there are basically none of the big US computing stores around here, EB, CompUSA, Bestbuy etc). Good decision on Best Buy's part, as they have a virtual monopoly on that type of market around here.
