| Ghost Rider Official Trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_p...ider/high.html I know this was leaked a while ago but it was shitty quality. I think that the skull looks stupid as shit.

| Hmm, Goyer writing it sort of balances out the fact that it's the same director as Daredevil... Cage looks pretty good in the role, but the effects are pretty weak. They do have 9 months to clean them up though. A lot of people are going to see this and think Spawn ripoff (even though Ghost Rider pre-dates Spawn by many, many years) and after what a flaming pile of shit the Spawn movie was, that can't be a good thing. The most damning thing, though, is the February release date. Someone at the studio thinks they have a stinker on their hands, and they usually aren't wrong. |

+1 Internets | Spawn, wasn't that bad considering the time. Sure, Maleboglia looked like a joke, but with what they can do today, Ghost Rider left me unimpressed. I love for all comic book movies to succeed, I even loved Daredevil, but this looks like it's shaping up to be another bomb.

| ![]() is possibly the gayest costume retooling since Dolph Lundgren's Punisher. That shit reminds me more of Mark Hamill's Guyver suit than the actual Spawn comic character. I feel the same way about the changes to the plot. Cutting Chapel out entirely and making Priest a chick and Spawn's killer? What. the. fuck. Running out of money before all the effect shots were done didn't help the movie any either, and it explains why Malebolgia was such a disappointment. Thinking back, about the only thing I did like about the movie was John Leguizamo as Violator. As comic movies go, if you compare the greatness of the book to the amount of ass the movie sucked, that massive gaping void would make Spawn the worst comic-movie of all time. At least there was the HBO animated series too... they had the sense to not fuck with the comic and just bring it to the screen basically as-is. |

+1 Internets | Meh, I can think of atleast four characters who are more interesting than Spawn and have had worse representations on the big screen. I didn't even think the costume was that bad, just really a shitty script and subpar actors.

| I'll say it, I like Nic Cage and a bunch of his movies. The skull is looks awful right now but the trailer looks like its building story for a sequel, without showing a predefined villain. Sam Neil > you. |

+2 Internets | Ghost Rider isn't in initial photography, usually when an 8-9 month release date would apply for a studio hit. The polish of the trailer denotes that the effects studios are nearing completion of their work. I'd give an educated guess that they are 50-70% done with all of the scenes' final renders. I'm willing to consider that their audio post is complete or near complete. So, with those three, if the February release date holds true, I would definetly agree that the Studios have reviewed it and either a) banked too much money to just go straight to video for a bad job (big comic movie, -and- Nick Cage.) or b) are moving a relatively standard comic book movie to a 'safe' zone. |

yea i agree totally. the reason for all the main plot changes though was due to the split up of Image at the time. Marc Silvestri , i believe, invented the Chapel character, so when he left to start Top Cow comics he insisted on taking the character. Basically everyone in Image , who left at the time turned on Todd. from what ive read in interview, he was a dick, but then again rob liefield , who is a huge dick, was saying it. so to prevent anyone from suing him when Spawn released, Todd changed a shit load of stuff and said that it would have no effect on the main storyline and fans would be happy with the outcome. thank god for the HBO series for saving it. the entire shit should have been the real movie. by the time the animated series was out, all court cases on characters created in the Image universe were settled, so alot more could be used. (Todd won the case for Chapel) however for the worst comic-based movie ever, there were tons worse. like the original Fantastic Four movie from 1994. if you cant get this on vhs, some chinatown bootlegg shops still carry the pirated dvd. some screenshots for folks. http://www.stomptokyo.com/movies/f/fantastic-four.html some of the best parts are johnny storm in his human torch form , which looks like technicolor, sitting on flammable items as if he wasn't made of fire. some more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fantastic_Four_(1994_movie) this was never released but completed and leaked. however the original captain america, spiderman, and thor movies were about the same par.

| And Elektra. Which also released around Febuary. The first couple months of the year generally are where all movies go to die and be forgotten.

but maybe because i started to read the comic during the Mr. Fixit / Phanteon period, instead than the older "hulk smash military" most knows Peter David, showing the dramatic psycological trauma banner had when he was a child, has given to the banner/hulk conflict much more deep the 3 splitted personalities (banner, grey hulk, green hulk) were the consequences of his father abuses, not just another "random radiation made another super being" yes, everyone hated it because they went to the cinema for 2 hours of non stop destruction, and from that side the movie didnt delivered much fun but if you went there knowing how banner's past is the real genesis of hulk (the gamma bomb was just a way to release it) the movie was very good obviously it wasnt perfect. Personally what i dont like more was his father. They made him much "less-evil" than the comic counterpart.....and i totally hated the last part. Ok, they made the father a superhuman being aswell, why the hell Ang Lee needed to make those last over-the-top 20 minutes? wasnt easier keep the father for Hulk2 ending the movie after the desert battle? from what i read, hulk2 will be what most ppl wanted, a 2 hours non stop destruction ill enjoy it, but personally i consider the easier and stupid way to use a complex character like Hulk its like you made a movie about Mr Hyde going around killing innocent girls, and ignoring his conflict with Dr Jekil
