Doomsday machine super tank? Black ops single man vs an army...

This is going to play out just like like mission impossible with some nam flashbacks.

There is something that makes me laugh when I think about this project. Let me explain through a digression: In the MGS4 Trailer, Otacon and some colonel from MGS I forgot come to fetch Snake in a graveyard with an helicopter, they have to go to Ukraine and the colonel said "Let me explain the situation to you while we get there". That made me smile because in a MGS game you can really imagine a cut scene lasting as long as a trip to Ukraine!

I guess you can see now what is a little silly about a MGS movie. How can you make a 2 hours movie that is somewhat solid (pun not intended), when in the game you can have 20 min long conversation over codec! As far as I am concerned, the "flow" of a Metal Gear game seems more suited to be adapted into a TV serie rather than a movie.

A less complexe plot, with less backstory and less twist and turn is certainly possible but that's sacrifying a lot of the Metal Gear trademarks. Who knows? Maybe the writter will be a competent one and manage to do something that works very well in a 2 hours timeframe?

So they made a video game resemble a movie.... and now.. they are making a movie out of said video game...

It's gunna suck unless Kojima writes and directs, and even then its not guarenteed because of lack of time.

If Kojima directed it, it would be 6 hours long.

I doubt it will be good, but I hope.

Having David Hayter write the movie for the character he's played for so long would be truly awesome.

I think the best way to pull this off without it sucking horribly would be to make it a brand new mission somewhere in Snake's past.. so that nobody can compare it to whatever game it's inspired from.. Have Hideo Kojima write an original script for the movie so it can be done in 2 hours 1/2 and that'll be great. And yeah, we need the original voices!

You would simply HAVE to have Hayters voice.

Should be okay as long as Kojima at least outlines the plot.

The coolest thing about Metal Gear Solid was how people could name themselves after animals. I'll be Awanka Wombat.

Kojima emphasizes Uwe Boll will not be associated with the project in any way.

I often wonder how Boll can have so many people in the world hate him with a passion and still sleep well at night.

anyways.. If any video game required a 9 hour trilogy ala lotr, its MGS. Find a badass unknown actor who can portray snake to a T, and its a hit
