+38 Internets | *SPOILER* Now that I've also seen the movie... Langdon's "disclaimers - it's not proven!" pissed me off as well, but they didn't leave it at that; no, they made the church innocent bystanders and instead made some secret council the evil guys, that'd be expatriated if they were ever found out. Horrible... Also the Swiss bank account 'includes a safe passage clause' - come on... that part didn't make sense at all in the movie. He knew they were fugitives, yet in the middle of the drive he decides to turn them in? In the book he helped them escape because he was afraid of his bank's reputation and had a change of heart when he heard about the serious crimes they were accused of. In the end the movie was ok, but the changes were just unnecessary and took away from what the movie could have been imo. But with that kind of ticket sales they probably don't care. And given the other recent movies I haven't seen one in a LONG time that had a meaningful plot. Also someone noted that there is no "Professor in Symbology" - true, the academic study of signs is called Semiology. dictionary.com has symbology as: 1. The study or interpretation of symbols or symbolism. 2. The use of symbols. and semiology as: The science that deals with signs or sign language. I think symbology fits much better, in which case the "Professor" title just doesn't apply... honestly not all that big a deal. edit: Just look at other popular entertainment... lots of people love "24" despite the fact that there's no "CTU" in real life, or that half of chloe's tech-talk doesn't even remotly make sense. | Was so bad, I was counting the minutes for it to end. The girl I was with liked it, if hadn't been for her I would of walked out. It just wouldn't fucking end, the story was so stale and any semblence of entertainment was lost on me. It was like the movie had a complete and total disconnect, just no thrills at all, just a bunch of crap. Worst movie I've seen this year. |
