| Trailer pisses me off in a way because it makes Damien out to be something he actually isn't which is blatantly in your face evil (speaking mainly about him waving goodbye to his mom when she falls) in the original he is so young he just doesn't understand so much that he doesn't act like that at all. Hopefully that is the only scene that changes things to a higher degree (yes to me that is a higher degree since it changes the character). Upon further watchings of the trailers it is looking very much to be modernized =( Last edited by Kan : 05-19-2006 at 10:22 AM. |

| One thing is I suck at horror movies, another thing is I horribly suck at horror movies with children being the bad guys. They just own me, literally. So I'm really wondering if I should watch this. Saw a trailer tonight for The Omen before DVC and while it was fairly simple, my god it was effective. You saw the kid swinging at a playground, the chains being rusty and making the sound, him all alone just swinging there. Camera changing from his back going in a half circle keeping a distance of 2 meters or so until you watch from diagonally from his front, he turns his face and has eye contact. My god that trailer freaked me out.

| Speaking of badass children, anyone here a fan or was a fan of the Children of the Corn series ? Outside of the crazy preachings of a child and his bible, some of the films had some pretty intense death scenes performed by kids. |

Original is definately better, and if you're not going to see it having your hopes up, it might be worth it.

| I am going to go see this soon, if some people who haven't seen the first could post a similar untainted review of it. Also, while I have this thread to attract the horror fans, it would be awesome if someone could identify a movie for me... The only things I can remember about it are that the victims were some innocent little white white kids. Then they found some satanic book or something and opened a portal to what must be hell in their backyard (while their parents are on vacation, of course). Me thinks their dog gets killed by a zombie then attacks them later on as a zombie itself, that part freaked me out. I gotta rewatch that movie;it's the only scary movie I can ever remember actually scaring the shit out of me, but I was only 8 or so when I saw it so that may be why. |

| Saw it. Liked it. Very faithful reproduction of the original. Thought the remake sucked in the beginning, but got better as it went along, especially after Julia Stiles died. Excellent cinematography. |

Now, before you go off saying the boom mic was the projectioner's fault, the remake of the Omen was shot in Scope (anamorphic), and not in "Flat" (shot in the 1.37:1 aspect ratio (almost the same as a standard TV), but it's framed for 1.85:1.). Either that, or I'm wrong and it was a lowsy projectionist who didn't want to slide the masking between the light source and the film.
