+16 Internets | Southland Tales http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0405336/ The second movie from Richard "Donnie Darko" Kelly got screened in Cannes the other day since it is in competition. A film critic descibed it as a sci-fi comedy mixed with musical and political satyre. All this with a 150 people cast in a 160' film. The cast seems as wacky as the project since you have The Rock, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Mandy Moore, Bai Ling, Justin Timberlake, Janeane Garoffalo, Christophe "Highlander" Lambert, Jon Lovitz, etc... It seems many people left the theatre during the screening and a lot of those who remained did so to boo the movie. The critic reporting that enjoyed it though and I should add that emptying the theatre and being boo'ed as been the treatement given to several Palme d'Or (the highest award of the festival) in the past.

+16 Internets | I should add that the journalist said the movie had several european distributor but was still looking for an american one, though imdb lists Universal both as producer and distributor... mystery, mystery.
