I ordered the uncut, unrated version of 9 Songs from Barnes & Nobles. We shall see if it delivers. B&N actually had a lot of the films that have been mentioned in this thread.

Irréversible is also shocking in a more twisted way. You see the vengeance scene before the rape scene. You think the guy is crazy, that nothing on earth is worth so much violence. Then you see the rape scene, and you are pissed off. And you realize that if it was your sister, girlfriend or wife who had to suffer this, you'd probably do exactly the same things.

So you get from a "this guy is nuts" to a "fuck, that mad guy could be me!" position. That's how I view the movie anyway.

I remember a poor film, a cute girl and some good music. C'mon C'mon by The Von Bondies is a little gold peeble. Then there is Black Rebel Motorcyle Club, the Dandy Wahrols, Franz Ferdinand... don't remember the rest but that's allready 4 solid tracks out of 9. Wasn't there Ride by The Vines too?

EDIT: Nope, the other five were Michael Nyman (!), Super Furry Animals, Primal Scream and Elbow(?) .

Having seen it I think I've got this whole hardcore drama thing out of my system.
