| Flight 93 Very touching movie and hard to watch at times. It seemed somewhat low budget which may have been a positive. Various cockpit scenes looked a little fake but no big deal. It definetly portrayed the emotion in a believable and tough to stomach fassion. Nothing was too overdone. 9/10 Last edited by xeg_IS : 04-17-2006 at 06:33 PM. |

| I will not see this movie. I’m probably being hypocritical in some way, but exploiting 9/11 to make a fucking movie seems pretty low. This isn't Discovery "how it really happened." The screen writer knew -some- phone calls got out and decided hey ! that could make a shit load of money! I don't remember a phone call that was as detailed and specific as "they took the plane, we are doing something". If someone has more information on the real calls, throw them up. Sorry, not really meaning to derail. |

| This movie will be 100% anus goop and no self respecting person should go see it, let alone enjoy it. It's for fat ass 47 year olds who read "People" magazine and cry at the "true life" human triumph stories. |

"Much of what happened on the plane has been reconstructed from the many phone calls made by passengers and crew, mainly through mobile phones. Ten passengers and two crew members made calls after the hijacking began. This was in marked contrast to the other three planes, where few phone calls were made. It has thus been possible to assemble a detailed yet incomplete picture of what happened on board through these calls." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Airlines_Flight_93 ) I'm admittedly not the most knowledgable person on the exact specifics of what occured on flight 93, but most factual information that I've read was covered in the movie. Everything from the flight being delayed, to the wording of the conversations and the people who were called, to the warning messages from the FAA that the pilots had received were all accurately done. It just didn't seem like a bullshit movie at all to me.

To me it doesn't seem that terribly different from exploiting the genocide in Ruanda, Cambodia or the holocaust in Germany, the crusades, the vietnam war, the terrorist attack during the olympics in munich, the suffering of jesus christ, the KKK-burnings, Pearl Harbour (or Hiroshima & Nagasaki for that matter), the sinking of the Titanic, or any other "based-on-true-events" flic out there... It's always a bitch when your personally involved somehow.. but that never stopped hollywood before. Last edited by Castigator : 04-17-2006 at 08:35 PM.

A-fucking-men. Anyone who complains about this movie making money off a RL based event where ppl lost lives, better never have seen any movie portraying the same thing, which i find hard to believe, so i guess hypocrite fits perfect. I will prolly watch this movie, just to get more of the feeling of a grp of ppl who decided to grow a pair and saved who knows how many lives, by giving their own. Even if it is not a exact portrayl, which is impossiable.

| I forget where I read it but I read somewhere that all of the families of the flight in question endorsed the film. I dont really want to see it b/c it seems dramatized and stupid from the previews I've seen (why do dudes have explosives, it was only box cutters right?) but if there was a documentry made about it I'd be there on the 1st day. Yeah docs can be biased but thats different than dramatized.
