Because I don't want to have to post anymore threads on it after this one, this will be the thread I post everything in.

The Superman Returns trailor is coming in a few days. I believe I heard it will be with MI:3 and Poesidon. The trailer will probably be on the net in about 2 days.

The hype machine is just starting for this movie. Action figures are beginning to show up in stores, TV adds are starting to appear in places like Australia, and more and more pictures and information are poping up on the web.

Just today we got our first look at Superman flying! It's a clip from the Australian advertisement.

It's about 10 seconds of footage, but to be that 10 seconds was more awesome than X3's trailer.

This thread needs more comments on why Marvel is better than DC... But other than that, I'm anxiously looking forward to the movie. Hopefully it will be as fulfilling as Spiderman's debut on the big screen.

Agreed fifty times over.

The only thing I don't care for in this movie is Bosworth as Lois, but I'm certain not even that can ruin Superman. Spacey as Luthor is fufilling on so many levels and Routh doesn't look half bad in the suit flying around.

I wouldn't be. Only reason he's doing so is he's owned the rights to it forever. Bryan Singer seems smart enough to recognize Jon Peters is a moron and make sure it's in the contract that he has very little createive input. That's what Spielberg did for Color Purple. Not to mention Bryan Singer is on board as a producer, which tends to mean he's got a lot of backing from the investors.

Also, the Superman project has stalled so many times, Sony and Peters both probably just want it made, and considering what Singer did with X-men, and are probably giving him a wide berth.

We HAVE our Superman movie now. The movie is finished, they're just polishing it right now.

Wouldn't worry about Kate. Some people that have seen her act at Comic-Con and other various previews say she looks young, but acts VERY mature as Lois.

It's not that she's young, it's just that unless they CGI her forehead I'm going to be distracted for most of her scenes. Kate's smoking hot as a blonde, not much so as a brunette, and I'd like a Lois with black hair. The actor as well as the character too. I hope the whole Lois/Kid thing is overshadowed by how awesome Lex is. It's not that big of a deal though, I'll be able to supress the rabid fanboyism for the actual movie if she delivers. She's only one aspect of the story and to be honest, I've never cared a whole lot for most incarnations of Lois anyways.

One of my favorite parts of the original was the fact that Clark was the towel boy for the football team. I hope they keep that in there.

Meh. I tend to look at individual stories & authors over actual companies. There have been some pretty damn cool comics that didn't come from either company (directly). Most anything Warren Ellis puts his name to owns. A movie version of Planetary would RULE.
