Clerks 2

I thought Kevin Smith said he would never make a sequel. Oh well...here's the teaser.

If this is anything less than the funniest movie I've ever seen, I will be disappointed. Jersey Girl notwithstanding (never seen it, don't plan to), I love all of his movies and his are the only comedies that I laugh just as hard the 20th time watching it as I did the first.

There was a thread about this posted a few months back, I'm too lazy to go digging it up though.

There is something this movie will not be able to be: more over rated than the first.

It's not possible to overrate the first.

As I said in that thread, I believe the reason that Smith is making a sequel is because he promised Mewes that if he kicked his drug addiction, he would make another Clerks movie. From what I understand, he must have, because here we have a trailer for the second Clerks movie.

Wow. I don't think I would ever say that about anything.

Clerks was a great movie and Mewes is an asshole. Speaking as a jersey person , I have met both Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes at their comic shop in red bank before Mallrats came out. Jason Mewes has always had a serious drug problem. As for the sequel business, this could be great, or it could be another "Jay And Silent Bob Strike Back Movie". By that I mean tons of celebrities with catchy one liners, fart jokes, and weird sexual inuendos. Kevin Smith always said he will make a sequel to Clerks 2 but held off this long cause he wasnt sure if fans would accept it. Speaking as a skeptical fan, it will be a hard film to follow. Like a Wayne's World 2 to Wayne's World. I can either go in expecting the worse and laugh my ass off in surprise , or come out of it asking "Did we really need another one of these?"

Kevin Smith movies always seem to deliver to me, even Jersey Girl, 20% Liv Tyler being smoking hot and 80% J.Lo dying in the first 20 minutes. Hopefully this movie will make a good showing. I would like to see the tradition carried on well, especially since the cartoons were hilarious. Also Rosario Dawson is in this film as the leading lady....smoking hot. However this bothers me in a way, and I wonder if it bothers anyone else. Clerks was great, and the actresses they used looked like normal everyday , straight off the street jersey girls. Which was cool. It made it realistic. I dont know if I can realistically see Dante getting a chick like Rosario Dawson, and if he does, where the fuck is she in my life ? This is one thing that might bother me, but I can look past it to laugh. Anyone else see what Im getting at though ?

Try watching the directors cut of Jersey girl. It's 3 hours long and Jlo doesn't die till like an hour in and then she's in again at the end as a ghost...

It was the first time I saw the movie too (had purposely avoided it before that). I won't watch any version of that movie ever again after that.

Kevin Smith also said that Dogma was the last movie he would make with Jay and Silent Bob (ending of Dogma says "Jay & Silent Bob have left the building" if I remember right).
But I present to you....
Jay & Silent Bob Do Degrassi

He also made Jay and Silent Bob Strikes Back after Dogma and before the straight to dvd Do Degrassi movie. The movie is ok funny, nice tits in it.

Shit, you're right it was strikes back, not Dogma that was their last. It should be in the production notes somewhere in View Askew.

It's also on An Evening with Kevin Smith. People change their minds, I don't get the big deal that's been made of it. He said he was done with J&SB, fans such as myself though that wasn't such a good thing, and he eventually came to his senses. As long as the whole movie is as funny as the trailer, I'll be happy and I wouldn't care even if the only reason he made the thing was for the money.
