Lucky Number Slevin Damn fine movie. Josh Hartnett never really impressed me that much before, but after seeing this I'm really looking forward seeing him play Bucky Bleichert in The Black Dahlia (and I can see now why James Ellroy said he was perfect for the role). It starts off kind of slow, but the dialogue is good enough in a Tarantino/Ritchie sort of way--good way, not a lame ripoff way--that I didn't really mind. The main complaint from sandy vaginas, er...critics, seems to be that the movie tries to be too clever for its own good. While they're sort of right, and I don't think too many people will walk out of this movie and say they never saw the end coming, like say after Usual Suspects, but I don't really think that detracts from the movie at all. Anyway, I'm being deliberately vague because the movie is definitely most enjoyable if you know absolutely nothing about it going in (I'd only seen half of the trailer and knew nothing else about it at all). Don't bother reading the reviews, I read some after I got home and they give too much detail about the movie... just go see it if you like the sort of movies I compared it to above. 9/10

Was about to watch this with the GF, but we opted out for "V for Vendetta" instead (which was great). Good to hear you liked it, I thought it looked good but I was a bit Leary about Mr. Hartnett. We decided to check it out next week, kind of looking forward to it now.

Great movie. I saw this over the weekend and loved it. It had plenty of twists and you didn't have to play close attention to understand what was going on, since at the end they cover the entire plot. The ending was excellent.

ya this was good, the cinematic style is kind a of a rip off of "snatch" but the plot was fairly solid and the action wasn't overdone, the ending was kind of predictable but the end to the love story was cool 8/10

| There is no internets | Movie was well done. I must say I am rarely disappointed with any flick Bruce Willis partakes in, even though his role in the movie is sporatic. but effective. Anywho, Josh Harnett(sp?) was a suprise, I might have to reconsider my opinion of him, but I will wait to see his next couple of movies. The chemistry between him and Lucy is pretty believable, especially at the beginning. Overall great flick, I would give it a 8/10. Nice to see Hollywood is off to a much better start this year (V is for Vendetta, Inside Man, and Lucky Number Slevin), here is for hoping Silent Hill scares the shit out of me.

Very damn good and a shame that it isn't doing well at the box office (which is no surprise good movies usually don't anymore). Really can't think of anything at all I would say could have been better just a great movie. Easy 9/10 if I like at as much the 2nd time I see it will be a 10/10

+1 Internets | Very good movie, was nice to see a thoughtful gangster/murder movie. It actually reminded me of Memento. I just mean that it was quite intense, with some moments of humor (although Memento's was dark humor). Definitly worth seeing a second time. My one big complaint was the explanation scenes at the end (but they were cool to watch, so I'm torn). I prefer movies that keep dumb people in the dark and allow me to continue being superior to them. |

--SPOILERS-- Great movie, somewhat predictable. I knew the connection right when Josh Harnett says he doesnt gamble, after Lucy says "Isnt that Ironic?" , also when they don't show the kid dying, but Bruce Willus told the story. However I didnt see the rest of the story coming, cause at the point I figured out the connection of him being the kid I didnt try to overthink anything else. Really great dialogue, amazing witt and presentation. 8/10

*spoiler* I was on a similar page. I figured out the kid was Hartnett, but I fooled myself into thinking that Bruce Willis was his dad based on the fact that they only really show the mother getting killed, the dad is just beaten. The biggest surprise was when Willis pops Lucy Liu...that was unexpected. They did it well, too; no big talk, just BOOM CHESTSHOT. That Bruce Willis is a world-class assassin (fuckhead).

I have to agree, great movie. At the start of the movie I was skeptical. I was actually ready to leave... But, the ending of the movie made up for it all. Overall it was good, not as great as Inside Man imo..
