The movie captured this really well which is a credit to its creators. I still don't enjoy it. Sorry. Problems I had with Spiderman 2's fights: Doc Oc could have had his face shattered by one strong punch from Spiderman. Doc Oc's skull is still perfectly human while Peter Parker is 8+ times stronger than a normal man. The scene where Doc Oc throws Spiderman through the bridge while riding the train defies the basic laws of physics. Spiderman would have landed ahead of Doc Oc not behind him. Ok I know that’s a bitchy ass thing to say but everyone in the damn theater was gasping at how fucking cool it looked which just annoyed me. In general, Spiderman (now voiced by uber bitch Tobey Maguire) never shuts the fuck up even in a fight. I hate it Besides the fight stuff I just don't enjoy the character development. There wasn't one character I thought was enjoyable or "cool" so listening to them slow the movie down by an hour with BS was just irritating.

| I'll avoid seeing Spiderman 3 as much as I can. The damn thing is probably going to be so popular I'll get dragged to it. That happened for number 2. I saw the first cause I bought into the hype.

Yea I was kinda upset about this. Topher doesnt look much like Eddie Brock at all. Will be interesting to see how they pull it off. Kind of curious that they didnt use the guy from the first one, that played Eddie Brock. He looks more like Brock, or did in the first one, with the flattop. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0263472/ Hopefully it will all come together. I would have saw Topher playing a better Cassidy and Carnage than a Brock and Venom character, but who knows. | |

It pisses me off when people on message boards claim a movie sucks simply because they don't like the genre. Spiderman 2 is one of the highest grossing movies of all time and is both movie critic and comic book critic acclaimed. If you don't like the movie that is fine, but what is the point in saying a movie sucks just because you don't like that type of movie to begin with? For example: would it make sense for someone who hates gangster movies to post in a thread about the Godfather? "This movie sucks ass. I hate movies that glorify criminal behavior and it is so violent. I can't belive I bought into the hype. Godfather sucks." Its just stupid. So you don't like the character of Spiderman or comic book movies. You knew what you were getting into. Why go see it? Just because you don't like the genre doesn't mean the movie itself "sucks" or that you "bought into the hype."

| I thought Spiderman 2 was a horrible movie. Everyone kept talking about how great it was and that it was non-stop action. I thought it was a slow moving plot. They tried to cram too much in at times and at other points the movie was painful to watch. I figure Spiderman 3 will be another Hype movie and it won't bring the goods |

| I didn't like Spiderman 2 very much at all either. They may have covered this in the comic books and I missed it somewhere (though my memory disagrees with this) but even if they did in the comics, they never covered it in the movies. Spiderman was always this super agile character, the spider sense giving him precognitive abilites and etc, and I feel they've displayed this perfectly in the movies, its amazing how nimble and agile he is, this is perfect for me, a casual comic fan. However, Spiderman has never to my recollection been displayed as a super tough guy, like hulk or thing or whatnot. He is stronger than a regular human sure, but he isn't tougher. He dodges like a mother fucker and he's hard to hit, and sure he can take a punch from a regular joe better than most, but he's still just a guy made of flesh and bones like anyone. This aspect of him was much more appropriately shown in Spiderman 1. In spiderman 2 he even loses his powers and falls from a 10 story building, his head slamming into a dumpster, landing on cars, etc. no fucking way, sorry peter parker would have died from a fall of half that height hitting his head that way. Broken neck, brain scattered on the pavement, RIP dead man. Being 8X stronger than a man doesn't make you 8X more resilient to high velocity impacts to your head like that, no fucking way. It's even worse when he's spiderman and hasn't lost his powers (And yes, him losing his powers were pretty gay as well). Of course i'm referring to the train scene. He tries to stop a train with his foot. That was fucking retarded, he should have broken every bone in his foot/leg, or otherwise his leg should have been ripped off, or he pulled under the train and killed trying to do something as stupid as that. That whole scene is bollocks. He's a really smart fucking kid, have him trying to do other things with his webbing, improvising ways to try to stop the train, but don't fucking use "hulk smash" to do it, its bullshit. |

| it really pains me when the ADD generation chimes in on a movie. if it's not 2 hours of straight action, it's boring and no good. before your generation, there were these things that good writers/directors used called plot and character development. perhaps too many trips to see 2 fast 2 furious and every other shit ass movie that comes down the pipe has ruined for you what movies really should be about. what makes the spiderman movies so great (especially for comic book based movies) is that not only do they follow the comic book very well, but they have good acting, strong character development and a great storyline. peter parker is not just some invincible super hero. he's a college kid with real life problems that he has to overcome (like women problems, money problems, family problems etc...) these are things that everyone can relate to and makes spiderman much more "human" than most superheroes who are about as deep as a puddle. this is what i always liked about the spiderman comic book and it's what i like about the movies. they are very well done imo, and i'm excited to see the 3rd one. |
