I do think he is milking it but come on. Even a moron would know that no one is going to read the series for another 30 years just to see how it ends.

| First, let me wish him a speedy recovery. No what you think of the dude anything less is just spiteful. Second, he fucking lost me when Rand starting getting the harem together. Seriously it sounds giddy and all but that's some lame literary projection to make his main character have 3 chicks chasing his ass. Ya its his story and all but c'mon, move the plot along and not degenerate it to a foursome.

| The foursome thing would of bothered me too if it had been any other series. I cant remember the term they use but Rand, Matt, and Perrin are "Special" and strange shit happens when they are around. Like when Rand arrives in that one city and people start having strange experiences.. like random deaths or people who would have nasty falls that should of killed them but they got back up and shrugged it off. Just being near them causes your destiny to like shift almost, so really the 3 women chasing him cant help it. I would of been annoyed by it as well if it was just RJ looking to get his main character laid, but he has been setting up that "special aura" thing from the very beginning. If he really wanted to he could wrap up his loose end real quick, and get Rand's ass to the final fight in 1-2 books max. Thanks too Robert Jordan though I have decided I wont be reading any series over 4 books long. If RJ dies before finishing this story then I have really just wasted 100s of hours reading a story that will never end. Im hoping that he has enough notes written down that if he did happen to die before finishing the series that perhaps someone else could finish it for him. |

| As far as Jordan's length (and yeah its way too long), I always felt his last few would have been taken much better if he had just waiting to publish them out together. Because if you look at 8 and 9, they are really just part 1 and part 2 of the same book, the same with 10 and 11. Whether Jordan was being greedy, or he wanted to publish something soon for the fans, or his editors pushed him not to publish a giant novel (like with Martin), who knows. But, even with that, their is no doubt its too long. It probably should have been cut down to 7 novels, a hefty length but still readable. ASoIAF will be there when all is said and done.

Also, he's had the ending written for years - He's said that he knew exactly how it was gonna end and had all that set before book 1 was published, just that the road there took longer than expected...and I've read that he has all that stuff in a safety deposit box so that Harriet (his wife) can wrap up the series and publish it if anything were to happen to him.

The WOT series dont need "an outline" to be continued, to need "an outline" you need meaningfull progress. What you need to write books in that series, is someone good at writing words. Lots. Of. Words. Book-a-minute does some extreemely justifying reviews on the WOT books.
