| Roger Ebert gives very good unbiased reviews, and gave this movie a pretty good one too. That said, being someone who is normally not that hard to scare this movie bored the crap outta me. I thought it was interesting, but not scary in the least. The only semi scary part is when her boyfriend "spends the night" to keep her company. I'd fuck a bitch up so hard if she pulled that kinda crap on me. |

| Seeing as how this was based on a true story, and one of the underlying points of the "possessed" side of the story was to spread the word and get the story told, I wasn't going in here expecting to be scared. It was just a story about a girl who had something wrong with her. Possession or a medical condition? That's up to you as the viewer. It was partly unbiased and showed a good bit of proof and evidence that it could have just as well been a medical condition rather than a case of possession. I, hating the fact that science and medicine try to come up with a fucking excuse for everything strange that happens on this damned planet, believe the former, but that is just my opinion. It isn't an outrageous movie filled with corny aspects of possession (projectile vomiting, masturbation with a cross, etc). To me, and I repeat this is my opinion, it portrayed "possession" just as I expected possession to be like. No turning of head 360 degrees and other cliche demon hating tricks applied here except maybe the small usage of holy water, which didn't really "effect" her all that much. I thought it was good. This was a movie based on a real life event. If you go in expecting the suspense filled horror and gore that fictional and typical scary hollywood movies contain, you will be disappointed. Real life isn't that suspensful. |

| Saw it last weekend, and enjoyed it. I agree with most of what the above posters said. It was interesting but not really scary. There were a couple of creepy scenes but the intent of the movie wasn't to scare you. I think they did a top notch job doing what they were trying to do, letting you the viewer feel like you were part of the Jury, and making up your own mind what happened. Although they did make it seem as though she was possesed more than they made it seem like it was just medical, if someone watched the movie and decided the former I wouldn't blame em. |

According to the reviews I read the movie is mostly a courtroom drama. Screw that.

Science has to find factual answers to everything, because if it didn't, it would just be another religion, albeit a very weird one. Some scientific answers can still apply and not disprove a certain religion someone may believe, but when it comes to the currently unanswerable things that science cannot explain, it's where the two different kind of people come into play: the faithless who need to "see to believe" who will work for the facts and proof until the answer is presented, and the faithful who will try to understand the unexplainable by putting their faith in an invisible parent-like figure. Summation: Science and Religion go hand in hand. One cannot exist properly without the other.

+16 Internets | Science does not exist to be believed in, science is the perpetual work of finding rational answers to questions. It is also to note that science usualy does not produce "truths", it produces systems, models and theories that try to be consistant with the observations we make of reality.
