i agree that the adaptation from the "novels" was good. you can film one of my pieces of shit in the toilet and really get the "feel" of it, but it doesn't change the fact that it's literal excrement that came from my body. and these so called techniques that haven't been used, where were you when the batman movies came out? epic shots of the city, speedy car chases, interesting camera angles, overexaggerated fight scenes. it's all been done | |

| Sin City has a special place in my top 10. Just above Fight Club, just below Goodfellas. Complete set of comics are easily available from anywhere on the net, if you don't want to look for it in the stores, and want to compare cells by scene. God knows Frank Miller made enough money on this movie. Last edited by Concrete : 08-30-2005 at 08:17 PM. |

| Heh, glad to see a Sin City thread with a few people that don't have spontaneous tantric orgasms at the mere mention of it. I feel mostly the same way as them... yeah, the visuals were amazing, yeah, I'm sure it is just like the comic. (And no, I don't think any of us had any trouble "following it", you stupid fuck. You know who I mean). But really, it just didn't make me feel any emotions for the characters, and I don't care how fucking intentionally cheesy they were, at least 10-20 lines from the movie made me roll my eyes. "But yer goin 60 and ya got a bum ticker!" I absolutely dare you to tell me that didn't sound retarded. |

| I'd like to point out that I easily find Sin City the best movie of 2005 this far, but I'm not like "omfg jizm" at all. Obviously I was very impressed and I think it's a brilliant movie on so many aspects but there's still better. How anyone can consider this better than Fight Club really beats me. Fight Club is something of the best, ever.

| Best of 2005... maybe on a visual level. Take some time next tuesday and go rent Crash when it hits video stores. I liked Sin City a lot, but the best of 2005 is stretching it a bit. The more I think about it, the more I realise Crash is a lot like Sin City at it's core. They both follow the story of various people in a city who's lives somehow weave into each other (though a bit more intentionally in Crash) over time. Sin City is just more style/flash, while Crash is more realistic/grounded. Both are good films. But if Sin City left you a bit empty, check out Crash.
